Hurdegaryp is a village with 5,000 inhabitants in the Dutch province of Friesland. The train station, opened in 1866, is located on the northern edge of the village, on the Leeuwarden - Groningen railway line. The station's two platforms are connected to each other via a level crossing. Platform 2 can only be reached via this crossing and does not have its own access. The platform was originally east of the crossing. Between 2018 and 2020, the platform was moved to its current position during the modernization of the station. During the same construction project, the level crossing at the west end of the station was removed and replaced with an underpass. The station building dates from 1964 and is now used as a kind of work space.
