Trains at Lincoln Central - 07/12/2019

4 жыл бұрынFilmed on 07/12/2019. As the Christmas spirits are rising, the cheers and festive fun can go in busy but fun ways at Lincoln Central (Season 6 Episode 38)
After a 3 year gap, it is good to be visiting this station especially at this time of year. London NorthEastern Railway, East Midlands Railway and Northern Railway were putting on additional services for the Lincoln Christmas Market. Lincoln Central is normally a quiet less busier of the East Midlands stations but this was different. Additional services and special workings includes from Derby, Sheffield and Nottingham by class 222 Meridians, HST, class 142 Pacer also a pairing of class 153's.
Sadly, due to a failure with 6233 Duchess Of Sutherland, a pairing of West Coast Railway diesels had to take over The Lindum Fayre Tour.
This was the variety which was seen at Lincoln Central for 3 hours:
DB Cargo UK Class 66
East Midlands Railway Class 153
East Midlands Railway Class 156
West Coast Railways Class 33
East Midlands Railway Class 158
East Midlands Railway Class 43
West Coast Railways Class 47
East Midlands Railway Class 222
Northern Railway Class 142
Northern Railway Class 153
Northern Railway Class 158 (ex ScotRail)
London NorthEastern Railway Class 800 Azuma

Too right it is. Lincoln Central is a great station even during Christmas Market and even diverts :-)

Almost a year since the Azuma expresses from London Kings Cross were launched. I did visit Lincoln as part of the 2018 Great Britain railtour, over a year and a half before LNER launched the full London-Lincoln service.

Another gteat video from places i have not yet travelled. What do you think of the new LNER Azumas Ricky? I love them! ,They r best thing ever. I have a few of your most recent videos yet to watch so not sure if the azumas on on any of yours.

Thank you Kay. The Azuma's are really good, only had a minutes trip between Worcester Forgate Street and Worcester Shrub Hill. They have amazing speeds. Only down point is that they have replaced the HST's. There is Azumas on this video and: Trains at Doncaster (2018) Trains at Doncaster (2019) Trains at York (2019) You'll see Azumas on those videos.

@@JimbobsTransportVideos Yeah. I suggest if you go during the diverts in 2020? There's even more traffic through Lincoln Central. On a normal day, there is a daily LNER service to London Kings Cross, 223 Meridian to London ST Pancras and mostly class 156/158's on Leicester diagrams. Most regional diagrams are class 153's to Newark Northgate, Grimsby Town, Doncaster and Peterborough. Not forgetting Northern hourly services to and from Leeds.

How often to 222's run between Nottingham and Lincoln.

Normally, East Midlands Railways does run a 222 Meridian with a daily service between Lincoln Central and London ST Pancras. But, cos its the Christmas Market at Lincoln Central, additional services were put on.
