I think it’s a scrap move, SWR are scrapping the 442s sadly.

@@sirmagnumcat4996 Yeah, under-rated trains. Thankfully, one powercar has been preserved somewhere, so fingers crossed they'll convert MK3 coaches to work alongside it for future railtours.

I still think class 442 was far more comfortable than class 444 but then i think a 4REP 4CIG 4CEP was beater than a class 444

How can they have freight on a dual track on such a busy line? I know South West Rail are slow but not that slow! (Me: just a laymen wondering how things work.)

there are plenty of freight loops on the line to facilitate overtaking moves
