At long last - and thank you for sticking with these videos, if you have managed to follow this “mini series” of regular updates - the bridge is substantially finished and put to use today with trains running over the tracks.
Nothing is ever really finished of course, and I could potter on with a few improvements and embellishments for weeks to come, but it is about time I put this project to one side and move on to other aspects of the railway. I have two or three other developments to consider, as referenced in the closing shots of this video.
If you have followed along then I really do appreciate your support over the previous five months or so. It would have been nice if I had managed a “Linleys Garden Railway” video every week but that is just not attainable. I have wanted to include the Trekking videos when I can and I just can’t film and edit more than one video each week. So, if you have followed along with interest in just the railway videos, thank you for being happy to “ignore” the Trekking videos every other week.
The timber decking of the bridge needs more painting treatment. The concreted trackbed cable groves need clearing out and the track put down properly. I’m quite sure that I won’t be able to run trains properly along this section of the railway simply because other sections of the line need to be finished. Easter weekend is my target, as usual, for train running so I have a couple of months more time to complete further heavy-weight projects in the meantime.
