Shot on March 9, 2016. This is a video of this siren sounding 3 minute attack ("take cover") and 3 minute hi-lo (fire signal) for the 2016 South Carolina statewide tornado drill at 9:00am ET. I apologize for the scanner signal issue. I had trouble getting the signal.
I know there's no start up (and sorry for the video shakiness) on the second test (hi-lo), that second test was completely unexpected. A few minutes later after the first test, this siren went off in hi-lo during I was taking down the cameras. The camera started recording around 10 seconds after this siren started up again. At first I thought this siren's going off for the fire call, but I was told by the county it was part of the test.
This siren hasn't ran in attack in 2 years. The attack signal was so awesome to my ears! This siren is normally tested every Saturday at 12:00 PM ET in 3 minute of hi-lo (fire signal). The attack signal ("take cover") is normally tested on every SC statewide tornado drill. This siren is a 3 phase model (1003A). This siren is part of the Newberry County siren system. This siren is one of the famous Thunderbolt 1003s on KZfaq. This siren is located in Silverstreet, South Carolina at Silverstreet Fire Department and EMS station off of Main Street (34).
