Native Instruments released Traktor Pro 2.6.6, a free update for Traktor Pro 2 owners, which introduces new Maschine mappings for Traktor's remix decks. In this tutorial, we show how to set up and use these Maschine mappings using Controller Editor and Traktor Pro's newer, cleaner, and easier controller manager. We also compare and contrast using these new Maschine mappings with using Native Instruments' Traktor Kontrol F1, a dedicated controller for one remix deck.
These new Maschine mappings control two remix decks at once, as opposed to a single remix like the Traktor Kontrol F1. While they do not provide full colour feedback like the Kontrol F1, the group buttons flash while samples are playing, and the pads are dimmed where no samples are loaded, providing limited visual feedback, and Maschine's screens provide a lot of useful visual feedback.

Hi, this is the first video that displays how that stuff works. I found that to have volume knobs in one page for both decks, and filter knobs in the other is not a comfortable situation when you are working over one of your decks, because been switching between pages is pointless. I re-pmapped knobs 1-4 for volume, and 5-8 for filter in the same page for each rack, that make´s my work flow easier.

Good for you! The factory templates are there as starting points, to provide more than a blank slate for DJs to use and to learn how to map.

Hey, how can i get each pad on maschine to correspond to each loop on the remix deck? the factory mapping only has the buttons for play/cue loop and nudge.

Question: is that possible with the maschine studio? I have traktor and the maschine studio, but I cannot see the controller name in the TSI import pull down menu. I also would like to trigger the maschine studio through one traktor deck. Do you have tried that? Best from Majorca.

I'm having some trouble working it with my kontrol s2, after i import the TSI the maschine still controls the regular traktor functions and not the remix decks, it still functions like the original traktor pro template in controller editor

I didn't understand if these mappings can apply the step sequencer of Maschine on the remix decks.

so, I have both F1 and Maschine. I used the mapping above in Traktor pro remix decks (which obviously controls both decks, thereby, making the F1 a little redundant, but the loop capturing functionality of the F1 and slider/knob combo are really nice to have. When I use both controllers, Traktor crashes...most likely due to said redundancy. Is there a more stable way to use both controllers of which you're aware?

Future Alarm Yes - mappings that conflict can cause stability issues. What you should do is call Native Instruments so that they know that you are having this issue. I would recommend using F1s alone for remix decks if you like the sliders and knobs. Also, when editing mappings, just remember that nothing is implied - you always need to program "if" and "if else." -Sam

how do you map the slots volume for the remix deck? it would be the faders of the F1

hey there, thanks for posting the vid, helped me set up within seconds.. I have a question. Im using an S2 + Maschine. Wanted to know if there was a quick way to take a loop or one shot from a track thats currently playing and save it to the slot i want ? Its a bit laborious going through with the mouse, etc just to get the loop or one shot in my remix deck. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

You can do this easily in Traktor with a Traktor Kontrol F1. My F1s are for sale! (I'm half kidding). I don't think NI has made this possible, or at least practical to map this functionality to either controller via MIDI.

Just wondering if you know the answer to this? I have a S4 mk2, can this work if i have both the S4 and my maschine mk2 plugged in ? if so then, would you know how to use it?

So do I connect my maschine mk2 directly to my S4 through midi cable, or usb to the computer??

it all works great but how do i focus the pads to control the deck on the right? im getting volume control and filter control for the right deck and all function control on the left deck but i cant find out how to get the pads to focus on the right deck

I figured it out with the groups. Only now since the maschine 2.10 update for my mk3, all the volume and filter page information is gone from my mk1 screens. The mapping still works just wish I had the visual information back.

thank you for the video, i have just one question it is possible to assign the remix decks colors to the maschine pad ? all my pads are blue by default.

No. Unfortunately, there isn't a good way to do this.

you can index the "midi in" setting them though. not pretty and colorful but it really helps with seeing which samples are being played without having to look at your pc

I have a question, about buying a F1 or a Maschine mikro mk2. Can the Mikro control the remix decks well, without knobs? volume faders, filters? I thinks that the F1 is only to control, and the maschine is to produce and control, but i can't find a demo of the mikro controlling the remix decks!!! Any advice. Thanks in advance, from Argentina!!!!

Leonel Saya Hi Leonel - I am not really a fan of the mikro or the mikro mk2. I would definitely go for the full Maschine or Maschine Studio. The F1 isn't really going to be useful for production. I have two, but only really use them for remix decks as they lack velocity sensitivity.

Yes, I'm using a mapping that controls all the decks and has effects on my Maschine Mikro M2 in Traktor! I love it!

How crazy do yo have to be??? Using a maschine MK2 - a €600 - for your remix decks? It isn't built for this... you are using only 1% of the hardware possibilities.
