Amazing job teaching. You have a gift for teaching I can tell. Could you please make a video on how to check the charge on a unit? I’ve watched other people explain it but I still end up confused. You on the other hand explain everything so well. Keep it up

Can you short, specific terminals with the proper resistors, to activate each mode separate?
@AGON17 Жыл бұрын
I would recommend holding the test short for a minimum of 8 seconds for best results

Dude you were a lifesaver I have never worked on Trane Now a quick question if you not sure if you’re out of test cycling the power will take you out of test completely
@charleston510102 жыл бұрын
Glad i can help. That's correct. It will also end after a couple hrs on its own. I want to say 2 or 4 hours

Wow my first time seeing a hybrid trane rtu heat pump with gas. Does test mode test defrost function as well?
@charleston510103 жыл бұрын
I believe it does. However I would refer to the operating manual for further information. Thanks again for watching. Hope I helped you in some way. Be sure to subscribe. Many videos to come!!

Can I bypass a phase monitor for testing?
@SpreadTruth242 жыл бұрын
What about when you have a unit that refuses to go into test mode no matter how long you short the terminals? Including if you short them directly from the back of the LTB terminal board? It just never initiates test mode?
@marcorecinos8629 Жыл бұрын
Maybe the screws are rusty. Do it in the back, where the wires are connected

I can't get one of my Trane units to run in test mode. Any tips on where to check next? I got a no heat call - and so far I do not have power going to my t-stat downstairs. Any help would be appreciated!
@charleston51010 Жыл бұрын
Dumb question, but did you check to make sure you have 24v from your transformer? And verify fuse is good? What about the led indicators?
@juhDaddy09 Жыл бұрын
@@charleston51010 Not a dumb question at all. I am getting 24v from the transformer - no LED lights are on - not even a solid green one which is not normal. Also I notice that in "Trane phase monitor" is not showing ON - or FAULT. But I verified that I have all three legs of power. I'm stumped.
@charleston51010 Жыл бұрын
Seems like you've got multiple issues. If you have power at the phase monitor and its not powering on, that's easy. Bad Monitor. Do you have 24v at the thermostat? If so, bad thermostat. You probably had a power spike or some bad power that not only took out the phase monitor, but also the stat. Hard to call when I'm not in front of it with a volt meter
@charleston51010 Жыл бұрын
May have also lost the board. You're just going to have to keep checking with your meter. Everything that has power and is not functioning properly must likely to a hit from something

Just get a decade box and you can test the individual functions without having to go through all the functions
@tonybasham71413 жыл бұрын
That not True on some of the new efficient units .
@jrsmyth9761 Жыл бұрын
Give me a link to a decade box that works. All the ones I have tried so far have anywhere from .4 to .72 ohms with all dials off.

How do you know is is cooling mode 1,2, etc, is it written anywhere in the pannel?
@XCRVY Жыл бұрын
You’ll know when it kicks on both compressors to kick on both stages of cooling
