I agree with the original commenter. Being gay is not a choice and therefore God made homosexuals attracted to the same sex. There have even been gay animals observed in nature. But I also agree that God made men and women to be what they were assigned. Being trans IS A CHOICE and being gay IS NOT. Sexuality and gender are different subjects. I don't understand trans people but its not any of our places.

If he doesn't make mistakes then why do gay people exist and why do christians consider them sinners? It would be easier to understand from a purely scientific/biological point of view, why is it so hard to believe a persons brain can be "wrongly" wired in a way that makes them attracted to the "wrong" sex from birth and not as nature intended but can't believe someones brain is wired to be/think it's a different gender from their body? the brain is a very complex thing and many people are born with all sorts of abnormalities/defects.

that is not what the traditional theology says though. It says if god wants to throw a curve ball and create people like that, it's not a mistake, and the test is if it is their nature. As a fellow Christian, wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. ...here's my problem though...there are a lot of Christians out there that do things in the name of LOVE that could quantify as abuse, disrespectful, or hateful. I'm not even saying it is the majority, but it does exist.

There are people who believe they are too fat (anorexics) when they are rail thin. There are people who feel disconnected to a particular appendage eg an arm or leg and want it removed. If you cannot live your life happily in the body you were born with and need to alter it then something is wrong with your brain. It's not an insult. It's a condition which requires sympathy and mental health treatment not validation and chemicals and surgery. We don't validate anorexics and agree with them that they are fatties. I want to be clear, this is politicization and not reality. I'm a med student and am somewhat well-read on this subject - children aren't getting trans surgery. In Fl, where a lot of the controversy is centered, TWO teenagers have had gender transition surgery in the entire history of the state- one was 15 and one 17. Puberty blockers are given for many reasons outside of gender dysphoria and is completely reversible once medication has stopped.
