I've only been doing it a week and started feeling a huge burden lift around my 4th treatment. Maybe this is really a miracle cure.

I just had treatment 4 of theta burst version of tms that only takes a few mins to do. After the first treatment I felt like I had just taken a good nap, I felt refreshed. After the 2nd and 3rd I just felt different, my senses were more sensitive, smell, taste, sex. Looking around at the world I felt like my brain had a see through blind fold on, and its slowly being taken off. It really is amazing modern medical technology. I can't wait to see what the next 27 treatments over the next 5 weeks do.

@@henryzhao4622 I finished all the treatments almost a year ago. I never felt happiness in my life. probably thanks to my child hood and all the trauma. About 4 months ago I started a weight loss journey while on welbutrin 300mg and setraline 50mg and I was put on zepbound but with he storage, now wegovy. Lost 35 lbs in 4 months. Right now I feel every day like I did immediately after treatment. Simple things Driving in the car is so nice I feel no stress or sadness anxiety.. And especially seeing my kids having a special moment and feeling the love and smile. I have no idea if TMS was the key or a combination. But at 43 I'm happiest I've been in my life. I mean I do feel that cloud come over me if I were to relax and just think about sadness. But if I think of something positive that goes away. naturally when you have had depression forever. You don't know you are even depressed.. Meaning that feeling is normal. So saying am I happy or sad.. happy means I'm not currently feeling like crying..

I’m 18, just started rTMS treatments this week. We only started these treatments because of KPU in my system. I’m really scared that this treatment will only make my anxiety worsen throughout the years, and I can’t seem to find many studies, if at all, of the long-term effects. Since I’ve started, I’m convincing myself that I’m “not depressed enough” for this treatment, and that they’re making a mistake by letting such a young person do it. I’ve been different antidepressants for almost four years now, not noticing much of a difference except feeling numb, rather than severe sadness or anxiety. Any advice? I’m just very nervous.

The side effects are so uncommon and so mild you have no reason to be worried.

In some respects you sound like younger me, I’ve learned a lot more about my perspective of mental health in the past few years and if I could give advice to myself when I was younger. (I’ve had depression and anxiety for 9 years, I’ve always thought I dealt with it independently relatively okay therefore ‘not as serious as some people’) fast forward a couple more years when I’m 24 now, it much harder for your neurology to change when you get older. The way I dealt with it as a teen seemed mild although it WAS severe, because of my brains ability to adapt and heal. Trust me, if you are sick you are deserving of treatment. The longer you leave it and dismiss it the more damage you will do to yourself. I’ve lost my ability to imagine images, remember the past series of days in sequence and just genuinely find it difficult to make new meaningful memories. Beforehand I had the best visual and cognitive memory out of all my friends. Just stay with the help, you honestly deserve it and I wouldn’t want you to leave it late like me. And honestly I don’t think there’s many side effects at all? Not with TMS, remember you brain has a naturally occurring electrical current in it anyway. This is partly how we naturally develop new neural links. I think TMS just emulates this, it’s at a much lower frequency that ECT by something like 1/400th.

All i can say is if i was 18 again and depressed i would choose this before antidepressants. And speaking from personal experience it raised my anxiety initially but i am now 10 sessions in and my anxiety is the lowest it has been in years.

Recommend no more than a 2-5% taper every 2-4 weeks. This is EXTREMELY important. Many times, withdrawal is delayed so you may be doing large cuts and feel great, actually better than ever but just be blindsided with severe, debilitating withdrawal weeks or months later and at that point it's often too late to reinstate so it's a waiting game. Please be aware most doctors follow old tapering guidelines and the majority going through withdrawal did follow their doctors tapering advice.

Numerous people become addicted to antidepressants as the body acclimates to the constant drug use. Your brain may recover like anyone else who quits a drug.

For me i was on Pristiq and I've wondered the exact same question, because i always thought the medication was so unnatural and yet I've asked for Adderall or some sort of focus pill because my mindset has been so abnormal and wanted to like really yearn what i want in a good education and overall lifeset I was off of it completely by myself and I've learned my lesson and I'm going for TMS again soon

This treatment is far from innocuous. TMS changed my life for the worse. I regret ever doing it and suggest anyone considering to hold off, do some research, and then just say NO WAY. This is not a treatment. It's frying your brain.
