Copeland stated he committed these crimes. In front of the Judge. This is the epitome of why there should NOT have been an ex parte meeting. This Judge inserted himself as a witness to a trial he is overseeing. There may or may not be huge crimes by these defendants here, but this is a breakdown of Constitutional protections and law. It would be unethical for Glanville to not recuse. In fact, this probably should already qualify as a mistrial. Since when can this local DA or F Willis' office give immunity on Federal crimes? Prosecutors can have meetings with people like Copeland, but this should be first year Law not to bring a Judge into it. Hes a witness to everything Copeland said and wants to adjudicate over it? IMO, State bar sanctions for the Judge. Possibly Willis' office if any 5th amendment violations were broken. Not sure there were. Also, it should scare people how badly incompetent Copelands defense attorny was. She should not be defending anyone in a capital trial. I am thinking she is why this whole meeting took place. She was clueless of the law and wanted out and things explained to her client. But far worse is this Judge, DA, a sworn witness, colluding in this meeting.

Shouldn't bail be revisited for the defendants. Hylton was insistent in the transcripts that she and the State didn't want Woody in jail. If he was a member of YSL, has a long criminal history, and presumedly committed many crimes in connection to YSL, why would they want him free on the streets, but insisit that Young Thug and co-defendants remain incarcerated. It can't be a matter of public safety considering that the State supports Woody being free. This seems so contradictory and Glanville was there in support of Woody being free. How can he preside over a bail hearing denying bail to the defendants, but support Woody being free even if he admits to any crimes, including murder, when Woody gives his testimony? This seems to be so corrupt and tactical to break the defendants.

I'm glad you caught that. Not many people are pointing out how incompetent she is. And she was defense on a capital trial. I don't think she knows what immunity, coercion, purge vs perjury , or impeachment is. She's probably why this meeting took place. She was so ignorant/incompetent that she could not give adequate council. So the prosecution asked for this meeting. It's the epitome of WHY a Judge should not insert himself. He's now a Witness to much information coerced from Copeland in that room. He cannot adjudicate over this witness knowing what he said. For example, Copeland literally said he committed these crimes. While Judge is in the room. This reeks of a mistrial and major sanctions to the Judge, DA. I don't think you can sanction incompetent defense attorneys, but nonetheless. This isn't the first time Willis' office has done this with this Judge either. "You might want to cover your ears Judge". That was said by them. Still, the Judge didn't leave or stop it. He's obviously bias with the DAs office.

@@Twigleaflol blaming Bumpus and not the corrupt judge huh? Did Bumpus ask the judge to threaten Copeland with jail time too? Or did Bumpus ask Copeland to admit to the crime? If you actually read the transcripts you'd understand that the Judge and the State tried to take advantage of the fact that Bumpus had worked with them prior.
@Twigleaf

@@Doodoo17 that's not at all what I said. Or what I meant to say. The context was that his defense atourney should not be handling a capital trial. I got some names messed up in text editing. But Copelands council was just bad. It should scare people how bad. He was not properly explained immunity. He wanted her fired. He said that on the Stand in front of the jury. No, I'm not giving the Judge a pass in the least. He's in the wrong. My guess, he thought he could intervene, since Copelands defense was so bad.

Judge should be disbarred that was a big no no what he did with that secret meeting.
@NiecyJourney
@NiecyJourney Ай бұрын
The problem appears to be he put too much trust in what the prosecutors were presenting to him. He accepted that they knew the rules of law, he accepted that they walked a thin line with lay witnesses and he accepted that his ruling were never on solid ground. I’m not speaking on the defense because we are here because he let the prosecutors run “his” courtroom. Do I think he should be recused? No, however, in the real world how can you come back from dressing down an attorney on livestream to be arrested in front of the world? How can the defense move forward with this judge and receive justice with the prosecutors being a big influence. Like, she said in the transcript put your hands over your ears.
@LadyJustice99
@LadyJustice99 Ай бұрын
But there is case law that states ex partes are allowed in exceptional circumstances. So how was the judge wrong in law?
@NiecyJourney
@NiecyJourney Ай бұрын
@@LadyJustice99 The ex parte meeting was an emergency meeting. It was meant to address Melnick’s concern for Copeland being n danger of being killed. Instead he was talked into testifying. The judge was wrong for not stopping the meeting and not notifying the defense. Let’s not forget the witness was already sworn in. I really don’t believe he will be recuse because the system usually send a person with power to class for the behavior or tap them on the hands and say don’t do that again. You will be surprised how many employee have to pick their battle.
