Words can express how clean immaculate your drumming is without a doubt you have the buddy rich sound and chops down to a science congratulations for playing this style of drumming this is your great god given talent coming into full focus I admire you and always will keep that buddy rich style coming our way

grand concourse is one of my favorite tunes from buddy's band book.the chart is on the cd,man from planet jazz which was recorded live at ronnie scott's jazz club in london in 1980.however,the funk a junk part of the chart has been edited out which to me makes it sound much better.i first heard grand concourse when buddy and his band played it at a run down movie theater turned rock concert venue in milwaukee.it was on valentines day on an extremely cold valentines day evening.because of it being valentines day and not at a more well known concert venue there were very few people in the audience,something that buddy made a joke about.i overheard someone say that the band had driven all the way from virginia for the gig in milwaukee.great job on your solo,btw.

bizyz - have you heard the live version of Grand Concourse on Buddy's "No Funny Hats" record? I think the sound quality of that recording is especially good - crisp, a little raw in a good way - you can hear everything, even the vibration of the snares when the tom is hit - and has a great little solo. Song composer and pianist in the band, Bob Kaye, is playing on it.

Id love to hear you do a free solo where you can show your chops and use your knowledge to structure the whole thing like buddy rich did sometimes. Ex: He would start with a very marching band like sound at the beginning of the solo and end it with a concert like single stroke roll and other random chops in the middle.
