Bought it back in 2019. Still works. Had to upgrade to an auto last year since on long runs your arms/elbow get tired. Perfect for a beginner on a budget

There is a "technique" i use to open mine, nothing fancy but if you lightly yank (light but firm) the press opens easily. Probably sounds weird but its what I do to open it one handed, Ive had it for a year or two and now its time to upgrade, not because it failed but because I really like the ones that slide.

Just a heads up, i just bought a Fancierstudio 15x15 almost identical to this one but it has been updated. It slides out 5.5 inches. Also the teflon sheet is now an actual cover that is stretched over the corners, one for both the bottom platen and the top, so the sheet and pads stay in place but are also easy to remove. After watching all of your reviews (after i already bought.and immediately returnedthe POS that is the Vevor 5 in 1) I settled on the Fancierpress and I'm so pleased. It probably works out to the same baseline price as a Vevor without the attachments, but so much better in terms of quality and build. I ripped my dollar bill nearly in half trying to pul it out of the corner, even with the super slippery teflon sheet in place. Solid buy! Oh, and there's also a "ledge" just below the bottom platen for leverage when opening the press.

I use a high end insta at work and the fancier studio at home. It takes a bit longer for my fancier studio to heat up and it is uneven for a few minutes. Once it heats up, it has no problems. I am happy for the price. And I can move it around. My insta needs 2 people to move.

Yes you can. Personally for us, we just flip the transfer paper over and re-press. The teflon is nice if you use a magnet and add it to the top of the press so you don't have to worry about it each time.

Why are you using dollar bills? To check the tension you only need to use strips of paper or plastic.

A dollar bill is generally thinner than a standard piece of paper. A U.S. dollar bill is made from a blend of 75% cotton and 25% linen, making it more durable and less prone to tearing than regular paper. This is helpful when trying to do a tear test to check pressure. Its a preference thing but these are some reasons why we do it.

@@transfersuperstars I have been a Printer for 40 years so have set printing rollers in large offset presses which are far more complex than this. In the last 15 years or so I got into the heat transfer industry, first with computer cut vinyl then solvent UV and lately with DTF. All I am telling you it doesnt make sense using printed notes. You can even use feeler gauges if you want or to simplify things just cut up strips of your teflon sheet. What you do need is material of the same thickness both sides that will give you a fair representation of whether the pressures are all the same. Good luck with what you are doing. All the Best!

Absolutely not. Why would you recommend a press that has more than 30 degrees in temperature difference from one spot to another? That means you can both overcure, and undercure the transfer adhesive in the same hit. While it appears to stick and survive a wash, your customers will call you on quality issues when they degrade too fast. It will be the business owner’s responsibility to replace those items when a transfer wasn’t applied properly.
