@@EastCoastCreative that would at least give you a clue as to where your book is hidden away without having to pull out each one to see the cover. You would still have to do that but at least you would only have to do that in the color block, not both full shelves. Might also work if within one color say blue is sci/fi then you have various shades of blue so that each author you collect has the same exact color but still meshes with the overall blue of the genre. Perhaps I am over thinking this because part of me did kinda freak at first and I am trying to work through it.

I have a unique project I am thinking through. So I will be using a Tuff Shed to make an outdoor office space for myself. The tricky part is I am an actor. I am figuring out a way to have a voice over area (as sound proofed as possible) and also a small area to put down a portable dance floor for tap practice. Both those things on top of having a space that I would want to be in for hours and would help spark creativity. Its a thinker.

Mary, sounds like a great idea! Back in the day when my late hubby and I were recording music in our home studio, we used puffy quilts to pad the walls in our little city house. Worked out great - deadened the space so there was just enough bounce off the ceiling and wood shelving for instruments and vocals. The comforters were filled more than you would find today, but you could make your own tufted pads for the walls. If you know who Rhythm In Shoes is, they live in my area and are on FB, I believe, under Rick and Sharon Good. They do clogging and music and tap, and may have tips for your practice floor, since Sharon has a performance floor she carries to gigs. Good luck!!

OMG! The book nook was my request! :) I love the end result and the stick on lights inside the sconces was GENIUS! I had also asked about a way to mount lights on the wall like that without running cables through my old plaster walls, and now I want to try that! I love the day bed also, and thank you for showing yourself nailing the cheater block. I once had several fence posts for a 65" fence cut for me at the lumber yard to 56". The spray-painted books look very nice, although it did make my teeth itch a bit. I'm glad they are still readable. Fun fact - people actually sell old hardcover books on Etsy for decor, that they curate as to the color of the book (no dustjackets). So that would be an option for anyone reluctant to use paint. Anyway, thank you so much for another video! I can't believe you were an English teacher! That's so cool! What's your favorite book?

I would love your take on shelving on a curved wall. I have no idea what to do with my circular library nook. Also I binged all your videos and I'm in love!! You are such an empowering model for women to build!

Hooray, you're back for REAL! Love the book nook, that is such a great idea. A daybed is cozy comfy if one has the space. You could use the same idea in a corner of your bedroom with a chair and foot stool combo and a bookcase. I don't have power tools so I wouldn't be able to install shelves like you do, I would use a bookcase. I draw the line on painting my beloved books, though, GASP! My books keep their dust covers on and they are shelved spines out so I can see the titles and authors. When I downsized to my retirement small ranch house, I went from seven to two bookshelves in my den/library/office, and there is a small bookshelf that serves as a bedside table in the guest room. There is a built-in shelving unit in the living room and that's filled with books, too. I still have a couple of boxes of books in storage in the basement and no place to put them, but I can't bear to part with them. I don't understand putting a book on a shelf with the pages sticking out instead of the spine showing outward that has the title and author on it, so you can find JUST what you're looking for. I'm a librarian at heart, I think.

Loved it! I would have painted the crates the dark green (a total fan of that color) and used them as book shelves. I have a lot of books and never enough bookshelves. Love your channel!

These are great, thank you! I would love to see you transform an under the stairs storage area into something. That area is usually so awkward. Or transform a room into an indoor playroom with slide and fort. I have been seeing those on Pinterest and would love to see you do it.

Daybed for a small apartment living idea! Maybe add a back to the frame for back support and add big extra comfy pillows. I like that idea Monica. I am actually challenging myself to decorate my entire apartment without drilling holes in the wall as best as I possibly can. #nowallholeschallenge Also, I think I hear half of BookTube cry out in agony about you spray painting your books. Lol. An alternative could also be to make book cover sleeves so you can always mix up the colors you want with different book sizes. The possibilities are endless.
