Loved hearing about this option. I've been thinking about doing some posting on KZfaq about the amazon fire stick, I hate it when I see people charging outrageous fees that most can do by themselves, but I'm not so sure about the "leagles" any advice?

I'm not up on UK Ethernet vs WiFi issues but,... In the US, reliability is much preferred over speed. The service to my home is on Average 120 Mbps, out of the modem/router, on devices receiving Wifi 802.11 ac 5.0 ghz I register speeds up to 93 Mbps, while the Ethernet connection is more like 46Mbps. But the Wifi is susceptible to interference from the microwave, wireless telephone, cell phone, ( especially LTE), and fluctuates as more devices connect, and draw more data. An Ethernet connection is free from the majority of this interference, and remains steady regardless of other devices. I think this is a great addition to the Amazon Fire TV stick, and am looking forward to getting one. Thanks for posting this!

Absolutely thankful for all the time and effort you put into what you do. I am extremely tight on money and all of your firestick updates really give me alot of satisfaction by allowing me to get my hands and eyes on all the movies and shows my family and i enjoy watching. The only things on wifi in my house are tablets and cell phones. Everything else is Ethernet. I'm currently working on an Ethernet dock for my phone to charge at night and transfer data between my PC and media server when I'm done during the day.

Here's one for you. How can the firesticks antenna be improved. I'm trying to get a good signal across a 12' room from an AC1000 Nighthawk. No cat or USB on the stick. No beam forming. Everything seems to interfere with the signal.

L bjorn well that all depends on what you want to spend. Regardless of price, I would look for a box with 3 GB of RAM and 16 gigabytes of storage. You can always add storage with an SD card

Thanks for the very interesting and funny vid...good info,but my internet connection is too far from where I watch my fire TV stick so a wired connection is out of the question...oh you said no questions. I have found that a small build(of kodi)works the best on my stick..no lagging or crashes and I just got cable high speed internet and it has improved me experience. Thanks again,HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hi, how are you. I have a concern on the subject. I have an H96 plus Dongle that is similar to the Fire Stick in connection forms, but I want to know if this peripheral of Amazon could connect it to the Ethernet as the Fire Stick and stop using it only with WiFi that is not its strong since it only receives 2.4 . They make an OTG (with a power in port) cable for the fire stick that WAAAAAAAY more useful and you can plug a 4 way hub into it, it's for sale on Amazon

Hi ASBYT. This is no more than an Amazon branded OTG cable. We have been using the likes for a few years. The advantage of using an OTG cable with USB hub is that one can also add a flash drive and 2 USB ports to connect keyboards and mice. Although it does add Ethernet connection, it is a slow connection limited at 100 Mbps, but this may be better what many get by wi-fi. But if you are that close to your router to connect by wire, you probably need to check your wi-fi settings. Thanks for the video.

Nice bit of kit. My problem is that my Kodi is quite a long way from my Router. I guess as always if you want to speed anything up then use Ethernet and not Wifi.

I bought it about a month ago and the new firestick rules about 2 times faster than wireless. It rocks! Fyi, don't buy the tv power cord to the firestick. It does not work. But the Ethernet module works.
