The whole "Autobots pretending to leave so that humans would understand the Decepticons' true evil nature and then come back to save the day" was actually a G1 cartoon original episode theme.

@@mrkrimsonj114 Megatron's master plan: season 2 episodes 15 and 16 (it's a 2 parter) but now that've checked, it turns out I was wrong about the whole thing being an Autobot attempt at teaching a lesson to humans. The decepticons were the ones who deceived humans and autobots in the first place, but the humans did learn their lesson regardless so there's that.

The whole series would have an NC-17 rating if all these scenes were done with humans: Jazz getting ripped in half Ironhide melting and falling apart slowy Grindors face getting ripped in half Megatron getting an ax to the face, then getting his head and spine pulled out Starscream's and Soundwave's heads exploding Shockwaves eye hanging out of its socket Shockwave getting his stomach punched open, then his eye ripped out of his face Bonecrusher getting stabbed through the head while screaming in pain Que getting shot in the back and his head rolling on the floor Rampage getting his arms broken, then pulled off, then his head falling off. The Fallens face getting ripped off while hes still alive And poor Ravage getting pulled in half slowly

0:51 that part right there was so downright chilling. Optimus walking up with his gun cocking it like a badass, his monologue “we will kill them all”, the background music. Everything about that part got me so hyped up. The autobots had that razor blade precision “time to go to war” focus when they came back.

Ever since the first movie he’s had some dark dialogue that doesn’t fit him. Let alone him growing fed up with the human race later in the franchise. This movie was so packed in theaters at the time it was the most anticipated threequel of the year, i miss those days, i didn't get a full house theater till Infinity War/Endgame, but the audience for DotM was so much more interactive, good times

The return of Optimus Prime itself is awesome: we start with Sam Witwicky and Robert Epps argue with each other, after most of them were destroyed from the sight of Chicago, then one of the Decepticon fighters attacks and nearly kills them, and then Optimus Prime walks up in order to respond with the answer that the Autobots will destroy the Decepticons.

Dude over a decade later and the transformers animations still blow me away. Like the transformations are impressive enough but the fact that they can animate them doing backflips and stuff mid transformation is next level.

PG-13 are not kids films. Kids under 13 may be able to see it but there still not kids movies. Now I did see the Transformers movies when I was a kid and I didn’t get scared of a scene like this.

Coincidence that this movie happened in Chicago. They dont need to change the scenery and the set for the climatic action scenes. They saved a lot of money. Michael Bay is a genius.
