I think it is better as a coop game or competitive game. That’s just my opinion. Solo is interesting but it becomes very move and buy move and fight no help from others which is cool.

The starter deck is all starter cards. As the game develops, I start to draw cards that I acquired from the market. The main deck is all unique cards.

Confront is a separate action that you can do once per turn. When you stumble onto an enemy, you trigger the bad thing on reveal but then can choose to skip and not use the Confront action. Figured it out because Confront is it’s own action.

@OneStopCoopShop but it seems like the encounter cards are capable of producing alot of invalid game states where you get "stuck" ...... 1) for "undermined"..... How can I add to a cards cost ? Do I stack the encounter on top of the card or something? There's no marker for that. I assume you'd forget after a couple of turns wouldn't you? 2) another encounter "out of gas"...sais "lose 2 energon". What if you have only one energon? Do you have to lose energon even if you choose to avoid confrontation? If so do you borrow it from other players ?... 3) the outmaneuvered encounter card sais "lose 1 VP". What if you have 0 VP? Same question of.... can you avoid the penalty of a encounter if you choose not to confront ?

1) only the Decepticon/ Autobot bosses add anything to track. By design, there’s only 3 in any single whole game. Sometimes I forget because tracking is annoying. But it does have the effect of making me want to kill them, which is what the game wants me to do. 2&3) The game's combat system is too convoluted, so I can see how there are questions. Generally, EVERY regular enemy and EVERY boss triggers an encounter card when you land on them - the Ambush. There's no avoiding those. The Confront action is a separate thing - that's where the player initiates a combat and tries to kill the enemy. That generally does not trigger it's own Encounter card. Just play cards if its a regular enemy. If it's a Boss, flip the encounter card and read the Boss Attack section. For your examples, if an Encounter card off an Ambush tells you to lose something you don’t have, nothing happens. That’s a good thing! Lose nothing and move on.

@@OneStopCoopShop I had this happen with a friend recently and I spoiled some of Batman the animated movie. To be fair, I did know she hadn’t seen it and wanted to, but I also assumed if you haven’t seen it and it’s over 25 years old, maaaayybbe you don’t care lol. I still felt bad.

I wish it had a cleaner combat resolution system. That's the biggest thing. Dunno if that could be changed without a wholesale change to the system.

Totally understand my kid likes transformers so we will play it but I wouldn’t play it with adults there are better deck builders out there in my opinion
