It’s like the G1 prime off the Transformers 1986 Annual and can be alike the toy decco if you wish. It’s not a bad prime this is just a normal prime with silver grey legs. You could interpret that the cartoon white legs could represent silver chrome to a degree. I think this looks better than the original to be honest. The colours are much nicer for prime as he was darker purplish blue in the cartoons and comics. I love it.

I think after what Takara/Tomy did for MP-36+, this is a bit of a disappointment-not coming with a G1 toy head-but it's nice that they took the opportunity to update the tolerances and such in this version. Overall, it's still a great figure.

Yes, still a nice figure, but could've been great like MP-36+.

Yeah after MP 36+, this is a disappointing release. They should've done what Missing Link did by having both the toon version (albeit without the trailer this time) and a full on toy-deco version with all the molded/painted details.

Thanks for the review! I wish the eyes were more yellow and that it came with a G1 toy-style head sculpt rather than the cartoon face. Takara is obsessed with the cartoon and I guess they just couldn't stand to give us a full toy deco.😅

So basically takara put the effort they should have put in this release but instead gave us the missing link convoy :)

I'm in 2 minds about either buying this guy or an animation coloured KO but for 3 times less than this costs ! But is this guy's build quality going to be so much better than the KO,s ? I,LL have to do some homework

Where did you get the paint rub on the red you mentioned?

Just at the top of the cab. Small scratch that reveals the red plastic underneath.

A decal is almost the same idea as a sticker, I think the word you're looking for is 'tampo' (tampograph).

Yeah, definitely a bit bulky. It would have been cool if they could implement those torpedo looking things Prime has on his back in the cartoon.

How can you honestly think this is based on mp-10? This is clearly based on the original 1984 toy. Research.

Brah...clearly the reviewer is not ignorant to the fact that MP1, MP10, MP44, and MP44S are all derived from G1 Optimus. He was merely alluding to paint deco, and which figure it is that MP44S draws the most inspiration from. The G1 toy has silver stripes on his biceps, but MP10 doesn't (MP44S does). MP10 has yellow crotch lights in bot mode, but G1 doesn't (MP44S does). G1, MP10, and MP44S all have silver thighs in bot mode. MP44S has the same triangle-rectangle-rectangle designs on his forearms as MP10, but on MP10 they are painted yellow while on 44S they are not. MP10 has silver vents on his shins while the other two do not. The list goes on, indicating that MP44S does not take inspiration entirely from the G1 toy, nor from MP10 as far as paint deco. RESEARCH.
