They are probably referencing the bumblebee to goldbee shift for his evolution post t-cog, but I think it might also be the lighting. To me, it looks like they just made him shinier, like he's brand new compared to when he was a dirty waste Management robot.

I heard of d-16 from roll out 2 by TFI creations. Though it was given to galvatron and not megatron.

Wait, normally, how are they able to see in altmode? Is there like some sort of sensor/scanner that kinda "scans" their surroundings in real time; this is sent immediately to their eyes/optics, allowing them to "see"?

Technically Megatron was taking direct inspiration from history of Fallen, as rebel against system. He obviously was not aware that Predaking was framed.

We see what looks like a decepticon branding iron in the trailer. Perhaps D-16 gets branded with the symbol as punishment and takes it as a point of pride to rally his army behind.

Maybe the death of Alpha Trion will be the cause of the splintering between OP and Meg.

Or Orion and D-16, now properly Optimus Prime and Megatron, will fight each other like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

That also lines up with the heated up deception symbol in the trailer, like it’s a branding iron.

Makes sense with the Aligned Continuity parallels too. I remember one episode of Transformers Prime, where Megatron explained that the name 'Decepticon' was used by others to demonize him and his faction, but they ended up taking pride in the name instead. Perhaps the Decepticon mark in this film is being used in the same vein - a mark designed to out one as a traitor to Cybertron (like Megatronus was to the Primes), which Megatron decides to embrace as he forms his Decepticon army.

Perhaps seeing the body of Megatronus on the cave will be the catalyst that makes him see it as more of a symbol than a punishment.

D-16, getting arrested: Hey Steve, how's the family? Steve: prisoner will remain silent! D-16: good catching up.

Given how alphanumeric designations seem to be common in the movie's continuity with D-16 and B-127, I can imagine a Vehicon being named "ST3V3" or something like that.

Well, considering the fact that our main characters are very unfamiliar with T-Cogs, & therefore don't know how to transform, I feel like its more of some sort of Rite of Passage type thing; everyone else or at least most of everyone else already has one. & miners/lower class also aren't allowed to have one to keep workers in check. & I'm thinking Orion (& maybe Elita, too) is actually from higher class*, but does something _deemed_ wrong, which somehow involved Megs/D-16, so as punishment, hes sent to the mines. This is why D-16 doesn't what to talk to Orion & is pretty salty in the beginning of the trailer. Maybe Orion is still a librarian/data clerk/archivist, like in TFP? *If so, this could be why Orion is overall more open(??) regarding the surface, when Megs/D-16 isn't, because hes afraid of what could happen if he gets into trouble, considering hes been in the mines his entire life. I'm also thinking that lower class are all given number names, hence why Megs & Badassitron are known as D-16 & B-127, respectively. Maybe when Orion (& maybe Elita, too) are sent to the mines, they are assigned number names, too, but they reject them, still preferring their "normal" names. D-16 & B-127 don't reject their number names because they were assigned to them at birth. Badassitron is probably trying to hide his pain/misery with a positive & fun outlook; because of this & what I said above, is why he is trying to change his name/thinking of nicknames, such as Badassitron.

To be a bit of Shockwave for a moment... It's the most logical conclusion. Why would they have visible sockets for T-Cogs, if they're not meant to have T-Cogs? If you're creating a mechanical worker class that's never meant to have them, then you'd engineer them to not have the sockets. "It doesn't matter if you find/steal a T-Cog because you've got nowhere to put it". Whereas, if the social class is more about robbing them of a power they've got at the beginning, then yeah. "You're a worker bot, your T-Cog has been removed. You're not likely to ever get it back. Unless you prove useful enough, maybe." would likely be the reality of how they're indoctrinated. Illusion of some possible upward mobility, even if the actual upward mobility is impossible. Motivation to work harder and harder, and be that dedicated worker for the theoretical chance to earn back that T-Cog. And Orion and D-16 see through that lie... Sort of like how kids get told IRL all the time that if they work hard enough, they can be whatever they want. But the harsh reality is that the system keeps people down, and most people don't realize that until they're stuck in a position of little power to do anything about it. So, possible social commentary added to the goofy fun movie.

In my opinion it is this universe way of binding slaves with chains. Not gonna let the working bots transform and escape .

Some continuities depict Cybertron as the alt mode of Primus, so it makes sense that the planet transforms

Cyberverse also had kinda nature/plant-like environments. & personally, I actually like that; it makes Cybertron feel more alive, instead of a barren metal wasteland with buildings, cities, etc.

Its not actually a retelling of War Dawn, or not mostly, anyway. Its supposed to take inspiration from several different versions of the Orion/Megs origin. Theres probably some TFP in there, some G1, some IDW, etc. But, I do agree that Dion shouldn't be excluded, even if hes not a main character.

Important note was that Megatron was a Minicon modified by Unicorn cult as false leader for the Cybertronians. He was not actually evil, but didn't have a choice, as Shockwave could activate his kill switch. After he is liberated later in the story, he actually join Autobots, as he was genuinely friend of Optimus.

@@GalvyTheTom I wouldn't call Transformers lore a "fan fic". But it is true that Hasbro is notoriously bad in adopting it. Fun fact. Megatronus actually fail to kill Prima, killing his lover Solus Prime while coincidentally attacking Optimus instead Prima. Later Prima(l) show up as assistant of Primacron known as Oracle and he actually become Vector Sigma. I must praise the fact in this show that Alpha Trion has beast form, as that more accurate.

Greenlight's to the point that you mainly only hear Mirage? While watching the trailer, its a little difficult to hear if they both spoke clearly/fully audible, or not. To me, it kinda sounded like just Mirage's voice was mostly audible, sort of "covering"(?) Greenlight's. If this is truly the case, then there is actually a pretty good chance that she is Greenlight.

Besides the greatness of BBM & ROTB, I do agree.

Seekers were independent exploratory force under command of the Senate. While Optimus inherited official Cybertronian military, Seekers betray them joining decepticons. Megatron could not eliminate Starscreem because most Seekers and Tripticon only answer to they Air Commander. Also because Starscrim was League Maximo.

Or they never had T-Cogs in the first place, hence why once they got them, they had no idea how to transform; they clearly never transformed before. So, its unlikely that they were removed. But, it does feel like some sort of Rite of Passage type thing; most Cybertronians get one at a certain point or something, except for lower class/miners, in order for workers to be kept in check.

The idea of turning Megatron into a version of Dion and a best friend of Optimus is going to make this hurt more if it is accurate. 😢

Oh definitely, the end of this movie will be, at most, the falling-out that begins the spiral into great war. But - again, assuming it's not a flash-forward - that IS the Matrix in Optimus's chest in that one shot, so he could definitely still get anointed. It's got to be a film that takes the characters to that recognisable point in their lves in order to wholly function as a "prequel" in the event they don't make any more.

Perhaps Optimus gets all the credit because he gets the Matrix. A Prime rejecting the Quintessons and making up for a past Prime's failures would be the talk of the world.
