This was more of a rant than a review. While I do agree on some points, it was expected. When they first show it up we knew what was coming, hollow parts and lack of paint on the weapons. I'm not too worry pretty sure reprolabels will fix that and a third party will fix the hollow parts as well.

I don't know, I'm not too disappointed in this. The figure itself is a nice little upgrade on the previous one with the orange paint on the front of the cab that both the last two were really sorely missing, and I think the trailer is pretty cool. It is a shame the jetpack is so hollow though. I'm still excited to pick it up.

Your points on how it is exactly the same as SS-32 are the exact reasons why I decided to skip on that one, although it was a big improvent over SS-05, it wasn't available by the time the reviews started popping out; but then, when I saw that Jetfire came with an extra abdomen piece just for this Optimus, and when this was finally anounced, with the plus of coming with 32's gun, I decided to just wait for this guy instead, I'm not too keen of being a completionist, just a guy that would rather wait on the more complete version of the figure, and this is it.. And from the points you raised by the end, this will be a much more affordable Jetwing Optimus than any of the others you mentioned (and just by a fraction of those pricepoints)

That's how most real tractor trailers are, they have the very back wheels, and then the two immediately in front of them are spares.

Anyone, Chefatron, I noticed on my SS #32 and this one that on the top of the passenger side cab there is what appears to be a small chip. I have seen this in numerous videos. Do you or anyone know anything about this? At first I thought I had broken it, but I am very careful with my collection. Then when I looked at my #32 it had the same thing. Any kind of input from anyone would be great. Thank you much all.

Sure, there are aspects of this whole set that could have been better. But, I just don't understand why you are getting so upset. Hasbro gave us everything that was shown back at sdcc (hollow pieces and all). I'm not sure what you where expecting. If anything this is pretty much in line with what we've been getting with these figures

Wish the trailer is painted white to give a shining silver look. And also the axe to be painted with energon efects along with giving him an Ion blaster that he used to disable a Decepticon drone ship when he arrive just in time to save Sam, formere sergeant Epps and his company. Its also a weapon that he used in Aoe.

I like it....! Sure it needs more paint but I didn’t have SS32 so to go straight for this with better paint scheme, better chest piece a shed load of weapons, a trailer and a jet pack, for an extra 10 bucks, that seemed a pretty good deal!

Every leader class figure released in this line has been pretty solid. So it makes me wonder why they suddenly cheapened out on this. Either they got lazy or they plan on releasing a much better version at some point down the line. Hopefully DNA Design and/or Reprolabels have some tricks up their sleeves.

I like the backdrop but some collectors don't have figure stands and it make no sense to have him standing in front of it

The whole point of SS-32 and SS-44 was to give you a single Voyager Prime figure that could wear both the trailer jetpack and Jetfire. So if you don't care about the weapon platform/jetpack you could just buy 32 and combine it with Jetfire, while saving $20. The only review you need for SS-44 is "Is the weapon platform and jetpack worth an extra $20?" If not, buy SS-32.

Not sure, but seems like a lot of folks weren't thrilled by it because they already knew that this was just a crap retool of SS05/SS32...

i wish it had more paint. some say its hollow because they had to make it light so he can carry the wings/weapons. but i still wish the hollowness is reduced. the one im after is the trailer.

Wow I thought it was a real leader class like actually a different mold and bigger but its juts SS32 repackaged. But on the bright side it still is in scale with the rest.

Actually the paint applications are different to the SS32 man, look at the paint on his arms/front of the truck, the red paint has a fade coloring on it which makes it Movie accurate for the SS44, and look at his chest there is a silver paint there which SS32 didn't have, which makes the SS44 movie accurate

I used to collect the studio series but sold them off in favor of buying siege instead. Really disappointed as this was a figure I had been looking forward to buying before I got rid of the others. Sometimes it feels like the two lines are made by completely different companies. Great review as always, I always respect your judgment.

Wow this is quite disappointing. I was already expecting less color apps, but man those weapons are so small. Weapons look like they should go with a deluxe figure :/

Does 44's OP combine with jetfire the same as 32?

That looks horrible, so much so that 3rd party makers like Weijiang makes bootleg copies that more often than not make Hasbro look like a joke when it comes to actually designing/building quality Transformers toys. Love them or hate them, but end results speak for themselves when the more often than not put more "quality" into it than official products that sometimes skimp out. I guess we expect too much from the official sources, yet they oftentimes look more like a KO than some *actual* KO's.

I love the movie this is from too much to be mad at it.

Hasbro definitely tries to be cheap at times and also screw up figures in the molds at times and like I previously said they should do better and improve quality checks before their products are packaged for what they charge for these toys.

In my opinion i mainly want the figure and the weapons. Trailer is something wouldnt care much about and the jetpack same with the trailer, now i do like how you rated it based on the paint rather than the number of stuff that comes with the figure, now i do like the painted chest pieces rather than the clear plastic but i really wish they went for another design, if i was you just replace the arms on ss32 with 44 and the parts next to the front grill, besides that if you have ss32 this figure is almost useless. Now i would rate this figure higher but i do respect your rating because i think hasbro ran out of budget but i dont think they were lazy its mainly the budget otherwise they wouldve gave us a way worse figure. My rating 8.0/10 like i said if you have ss32 then this figure is useless pretty much unless you want two different primes

Lmao this is the first I've ever agrees with you with a figure that looked bad. I mean, the core figure itself is good (I remember back when the first released some teaser images of this figure I was afraid that extra armor on his midsection might not be painted), the things that's included here that makes him a leader class is very disappointing. The first and very major disappointment was the trailer. I'm okay with a trailer that had so much panel lines, but that isn't a trailer, that's a giant square-ish box of unpainted plastic! That looks NOTHING like what hasbro gave us! That pure silver trailer that Hasbro gave us, it's gone. Instead what we got is a giant heap of plastic. And don't even get me started to the arsenal mode, I mean I appreciate that they tried immigrating it while trying to make it more compact but, they could've atleast added a bit of transformation that adds those kind of sheild holders just like on the movie. The next is the jetwing, it's okay, it's fine, the hollow plastic is to be expected, it's just the fact that there's next to NO articulation in it, meaning it'll literally just be straight, and it looks stupid, because it was never straight on the movie, it's always shown to be like swept back a little. And no please don't make me talk about the weapon accessories. This thing is an absolute disappointment, on the accessories that is, but the main figure is absolute fire!

If you are going to buy any of the studio series optimus prime figures then the only one you need is the one that goes with Jetfire. The rest are an easy pass.
