I wish Ratchet’s connection to Omega Supreme featured in Animated would be further used in future stories. Ratchet was like the only one who would treat the arguably abused Omega as a friend rather than a tool and weapon. I found it very wholesome

Strafe the Dinobot from the first IDW comics continuity (No relation to the G1 Technobot or Dinobot from Age Of Extinction) is also rather burly

I think Prime's Ratchet might be my favorite and I LOVED his VA from Prime too. But the level of Sass that the IDW Comics Ratchet throws around is beyond Godlike. "Hear that? It's the glorious sound of the past tense." But really, I love all things Ratchet. He is the single best Transformer in all of epic Transformer-dom! Long live the King of Sass!

It would be interesting to see a female version of Ratchet. I imagine her as a caring, mother figure, especially to Bumblebee. And her big rants whenever one the autobots does something stupid, and they call her and old lady.

Ratchet will always be one of my faves. He showed his best in the gen one cartoon, when he and Wheeljack built Autobot X, to house Spike's mind when he was undergoing surgery after a near fatal accident. That cemented my love for the Autobot medic.

I will say, my favourite Ratchet moment was in the IDW comics, and actually after he had died, so minor spoilers for the very last chapter. During his funeral Whirl (one of the wreckers who had been a clockmaker and then lost his hands) was attending on parole and was approached by Drift after the service. As it turns out, Ratchet had left his hands to Whirl in his will so that he could have proper hands again, something Whirl had wished for previously

I actually have my own variant on Ratchet, which incorporates his attitude from Prime with his scientific knowledge and willingness to cooperate with the inventor/assistant medic Wheeljack from G1.. (Wheeljack in my version is a combination of his G1 inventor/medic job and his job as a Wrecker in Transformers: Prime. Basically, he's the Wreckers' engineer, repairing 'bots and breaking 'cons, while inventing new ways and new mechanisms to do both.) Not to mention his classic Prime catchphrase: "I NEEDED THAT!"

I do appreciate Rachets conviction as he removed a stolen part from Lockdown. In Animated & felt his fear when dealing with Soundawave in Prime. Theres quite the history to this medic!

Matter of fact, in Japan, the Armada incarnation of Red Alert is named Ratchet in their markets.

God, this made me tear up. Thank you, thank you so much for this. Ratchet is one of my favorite Transformers EVER! He's THE supporting character and a pillar to whatever group he's part of. I watched G1 as a bitty, and Ratchet was one I always remembered aside from Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. No matter which series he's in, he has seen some shit. Despite the disappointment the new Netflix series was for me, I loved how they handled Ratchet. As a Geewunner, I honestly like Alligned!Ratchet and IDW!Ratchet best.

Probably one of my favorite moments of Ratchet from Prime was when he (almost drunkenly) referenced Bantor from BeastWars. Ratchet: "Do I hear a Fuzor in need of voice box repair?..." AgentFowler: "WHAT THE HECK IS A FUZOR!?!?!?!?" Ratchet: "... Just ask Bantor, he was all mandrill before I put a tiger in his tank!" That line gets me every time! It's fun for me because I actually have Bantor's toy from the BeastWars toy-line; I always wanted to know more about him, since he never appeared in the cartoon. How about it Chris McFeely? A basics video on Bantor, perhaps? There were a lot of BeastWars characters that never appeared in the BeastWars cartoon, maybe you could do a video or 2 about them. Of course, it's just a suggestion.

FUN FACT: When Transformers Armada anime and toyline release in Japan six months after the US, Red Alert was renamed as Ratchet for the Japanese market

I always wondered why medic and mechanic are different roles in a race made up primarily of non-organic entities especially when there are times Ratchet doesn't know much in terms of organic biology.

. . . I think Ratchet might be my favorite character. Hard Headed, Stubborn, but always doing what's best for others, no matter the cost. I think Ratchet deserves his own Live Action film!

My favourite ratchet has to be primes just for his character alone being stuck at base when he wants to be out there helping the bots and his guilt getting the better of him on times like in the Synthetic Energon episode and waiting to be cut up in a scrapyard when Raf and Bee find him and try to get him to come back to get a counterattack ready

My all time favorite character of the entire Transformers franchise. And my favorite version must be the Prime one, because of the design and Jeffery Combs. Thanks for making this video on the backstory of my boi :)
