You can't help but admire the crazy lengths of G1 cartoon retconning and absolutely bonkers storytelling the Japanese writers are prepared to go through to sell some recoloured Seacons. I genuinely love the all out mindbending multiversal stories that occur as a result.

I liked how the generation selects manga basically started off sorta as a TF Isekai manga , with our protagonist Optimus (and Galvatron?) transported to another world by their god to supposedly save the universe from evil forces ,then eventually become a story with multiverse, time travel and stuff that served as a prequel to another story that was a few years ago,with the Dinobots teaming up with Abominus to Megatron soul traveled across time and space to possess a duplicate of himself to fight a past version of himself in another world.Gotta give the writers credit for able to link so much stuff into a manga that was to promote toys, honestly Im alot more impressed than confused with the plot.

Just imagine, a Transformers show base in a team charge with defending the multiverse from any treat, we could see all kind of Transformers in all kind of adventures

The different colors of the factions really reminds me of the Green Lantern Corps. And with multiversal crossovers being everywhere now in pop culture, I'm surprised this isn't a bigger deal.

I've never heard of this, but I love this take on Primus, reimagining the G1 Primus as not a divine deity but a relatable character with flaws just trying to do the right thing and getting carried away a bit.

One of my favorite things about the Primus Vanguard was that they repurposed figures as new characters, such as Yellow Convoy; I particularly enjoy the fact that it opens up the pool of characters both fan and official works can pull from, of which we can then "technically" have an official representation in figure form.

Reminds me of the Lantern Corp. It started with Green Lanterns but then spiraled out to include a whole spectrum.

Even coming from a DC comics fan, the mechanics of this Multiverse sound soooo convoluted. Nice job making sense of it though. One thing I will say is I do have to admire the Japanese continuity making everything into one timeline though instead of multiple reboots like we have over here.

I know you're none too fond of Sakamoto's work, but I think you did an admirable job of laying out the story and ideas of the admittedly confusing Generations Selects in a way that makes it easy to understand, while focusing on the Primus character story that forms the REAL heart of the matter. This is an awesome story by Japan! I love how it treated every character and made Primus not an all-good god, but a normal being who does make mistakes. This is something I really hope Hasbro brings to the west as a show or even movie series.

Primus pierced the veil and horizon of time to better understand what was to come, and was horrified by the result. Simply put, the future wasn't always a bright one. But it wasn't always dark either. Where there is life, there is hope and hope is sometimes all you need to make a future worth fighting for

Very very COOL! I knew there was a backstory to these oddly colored characters! A great story indeed summed up here and makes me want that Big Blue Convoy all the more now. The one thing I hthink I really like about this storyline is it makes G1 Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime more clearly "The Chosen One." The fact that Primus shares a body design with Rodimus adds the implication that Primus is actually acting through Hot Rod rather than Hot Rod just wielding the Matrix. It also kind of explains why his leadship was short-lived, only for Optimus to return. His purpose was only to defeat Unicron. I don't know if they made the choice to use a toy with a Rodimus body as Primus was intentional; but if it was, I appreciate it. The weird stuff modern Japanese g1 writing goes through to try and canonize everything they can goes to really absurd and bizarre places. Overall, this storyline is one of the more absurd. But solving the "if Rodimus is the Chosen One, then why was his run as leader so short?" question is appreciated. Not sure if I like it. But if it was intentional, I appreciate it.

I love how this repurposes several random redecoed toys that served no purpose and gives them an actual backstory and lore. It's extremely fanwanky and hard to explain sure, but I'm glad it's out there.

Man I know that some of the stories and the lore can get pretty convoluted..... But holy Hannah, this generations selects/Primus Vanguard story takes the cake!

Seeing these colors and different Matrix shapes, it kinda makes me think of DC's Lantern Corps. red: rage/anger yellow: fear green: will purple: love blue: hope white: life/able to use all colors black: death I think it would be interesting to have this based on the DC Lantern Corps and the personalities of the colors resemble the emotional spectrum. Red for anger could always be enraged about something. Yellow for fear could always be afraid. Green for will could always be willing to do anything. Purple for love could always be kind and loving toward everyone, especially her enemies Blue for hope could always be hopeful for the best possible outcome. White for life could basically be Primus himself, while Black for death could be Unicron.

Now THATS what I call a multiverse of madness.

I love how the story has a similar feel to the Transformers comics & storylines that 3H Productions & Fun Publications made going from the 1990's to 2010's.

In my school vr game rebake the spectres had a major role and became the game antagonist and in the mission called the ultimate price in the post ending the spectres used the damaged remains of the decepticon calamity weapon Goalius and parts of different mobile suits and created armacon
