A gentle suggestion from a fellow DIYer who remodeled our house down to the studs and top to bottom. If you use a small 1.5 inch putty knife to fill small holes like the screw holes in wood, you will have less discoloration and need for sanding prior to staining the wood. The new place is coming along nicely!

I love the way your children feel free to talk to you or ask you questions while you are recording. You just stop and answer them and continue on. You are a good momma.

The color of your cabinets is AMAZING!!! ❤ *HINT* To prevent losing the hardware from a door or cabinet while you’re painting, put the screws onto the sticky side of masking tape and then stick the tape to the inside of your cabinet. ❤️

The idea of having your important documents close to an exit is spot on. We are a month a half out from a total loss house fire, and from now on, we will be keeping a small fireproof safe in our home. Keep a copy of special photos, tax documents, property documents, and any non daily use identification documents somewhere safe!! Its been a trial to replace my husband's documents. I'm in love with your makeover so far Merina!!

GIIIIRL YALL GOT MORE PUPS? YAY! Merina, you have truly brightened my days since the start of your channel. I'm asking you all to please pray for me. During the pandemic we were renting and when the housing market went crazy we were forced to move due to our landlord selling. Unfortunately we weren't able to find a home to rent or purchase in our hometown we had lived in our entire life. We had to uproot, leave my job, change my babies school and leave our family behind just so we wouldn't be homeless. It's been 2.5 years now and I'm so homesick and miserable. I'm so grateful God allowed us to be buy a house but it isn't home. We are so unhappy and just want to go back home. Please pray that God will open doors for us so we can sell and find our forever home in our hometown. I know it may be silly and there's so much more going on in others lives but to me, my husband and our son it's important. It's just been really hard on us. Thank you for your prayers. ❤

First off, Rocky is majestic! And it looks like you guys had a ton of fun with the snow. It must be so fun to have the larger piece of property to enjoy it on. For the cabinets: Keep a binder or portfolio case with important documents and such and keep a household binder (or two) with all of your manuals, receipts, and warranty information for appliances, electronics, tools, etc. They are also a good place for board games, as others have suggested. Also, I know what you have stated about sponsorships before, but I think that if someone like Sherwin Williams ever reached out to sponsor you, you should consider taking the sponsorship. But only do it for companies that you already use and support, and products that you already like. That way you don’t feel obligated to say nice things that you don’t mean. You can start with just product sponsorships instead of paid sponsorships. Think of it as an investment into the channel and into your content, because free tools, supplies, etc. would help you do the projects you want to do to the quality that you want to do them, without worrying about the budget. And then you could bless us with the videos of those projects, so it would be like paying forward the gifts that the sponsors give you. Not trying to pressure you to do this. Just saying that you should pray about it, because God could be trying to bless you with sponsorships and you may be rejecting His blessings. And if you don’t feel comfortable committing to sponsorships right now, at least sign up for affiliate programs for the companies you use. Not just Amazon. I think that Lowe’s and other places also have affiliate programs, and they would be good ways to generate small amounts of passive income that you can invest back into your projects.

Hi Merina and Shane and kiddos and furs, everything looks absolutely beautiful great job and creativity!My Dad is a contractor and I used to do finish work for him he taught me with raw wood to use a damp cloth on it before applying stains because it will help soak up the stains.Also on the wood putty sweep up Shane's sawdust and mix it a little bit with your wood putty let dry and sand it will disappear into the wood.Love the new fur baby I bet everyone enjoys the snow your land looks like a winter wonderland.God bless you both and the kids and Nannie 🙏🕊️💚

And for important things if you had to run out the door, my Nanny had a suitcase full of documents and treasured memories that she kept close to the entryway. Store extra throw blankets and pillows in one and all your candles and waxes maybe light bulbs. The games would also be good but if you'll be playing games in the dining room then maybe put in one of cabinets in there. U could even put extra tp and paper towels since they are such big deep cabinets. We buy big bulk of them and its hard to find a place big enough for them. Your dogs were so cute in snow. My dog has three legs due to the hurricanes in Houston. It snowed a couple months after they finally took his leg and he had never been in snow. U would've never known he was missing a leg. He ran back and forth and around in circles so fast that he was turning flips. It was so amazing to watch and brought tears to my eyes and everyone else's.

Love the colors. Sherwin paint for the win. Just FYI they have a Proclassic line that is great for furniture/cabinets. It dries and cures super durable. I’ve also used some from the emerald line for pantry/closet shelves because it dries hard and baskets or jars don’t stick to it when you load up the shelves. They’ve both gotten super pricey and beyond in the last couple of years but they’ll give you a real professional finish if you budget for them.
