Great job, nice seeing working together with your son. He will remember that for the rest of his life, and making the future trips even more special. About the the holes in the roof, I would (let them) weld up, it will be the best solution and make it proper waterproof. The last thing you want is that water is damaging your finished interior or messing with the electrics.

HI. Thanks for your comment and advice. Yes, my intention is to enjoy life with my kids and have wonderful experiences that they can remember forever :) I've since spoken to a welder friend who is going to do the holes in my floor, but he's advising on not welding the roof as the skin is so thin it will cause shrinkage in the metal apparently. Plus the fact it'll need to be painted. I'll be meeting with him soon so will discuss some more. He is a pro who restores old cars so will see what he says on close inspection.

Its really good to see you starting the build. The metal filler putty stuff you showed is the same stull I used on Viv. I put it on first then painted red oxide and then hammerite. fingers crossed, it did the job. It did on on Viv and has been great. You have a great van there and I cant wait to see it blossem. Its going to look awesome and a fitting mobile home for you and the family. Muchlove and respect to you all🙏- Kenny

Great to see you getting started! It takes so,so long to do a van but it will be worth it! There’s days when you have been on at it for hours and no one would notice you’d done a thing 🙈 Someone told me when I was doing mine ‘ it’s quicker to build a bungalow’ and I think they’re right. But every job ticked off is a big step to your next adventure 😀👏👏

I’m not sure how long it took really as we started using it way beyond being finished (not that it’s finished now, still adding and altering things) I tended to use it and then think by next time we go away I want this fitted 😂 We just threw the sofa in and took the camping stove to begin with 🙈 Yes did every last bit by myself. Jasper helped with laying the floor but the rest was down to me, my jigsaw, drill and paint brush (those were definitely the most used tools) It’s hard work but I’m sure you’ll do a fantastic job 😀

I love it but there’s always things you learn along the way which if I ever do another, I’d hopefully make a better job. I think with your building skills you’ll do a fantastic job and can’t wait to see it 😀👏👏

I loved your video! Just a bit behind you on my mwb sprinter. Solo tho! And yes working and age and so much you said in there has graven me a lift. Steel stick hadn’t heard of that so will be getting some. Pleasure to watch thank you.

@@life_uncharted got the red oxide hammerite and steel stick this morning. Cab is still in pieces getting cleaned but it’s good to know what’s next at least. And yes enjoy your holidays definitely.

Ha ha. I used it on the floor. But you think it would be OK and water tight for the roof?

Guess it depends how big the holes are but if you have a mate who will weld the floor, maybe get the roof done as well. Weld or steel putty, you will be able to paint so will look better. Love the videos, keep going, it will be worth it
