I have been back and forth on the look I like the most for over 2 years, and today we finally decide to make a change modifying the e36 m3 and see how it goes. We stop by to see what Riley thinks of the new headers and the front end, take him for a rip, and he puts the k04 to work in the golf 1.8t! Enoy!

I just bought a 98 M3 from an estate sale with a hundred and forty Thousand Miles and paid $2,500 for it it was idling rough and I fixed it for twenty bucks cleaning the ICS valve and replacing the the little piece of hose between the throttle body and the ICS valve win win I spent $1,750 putting new brakes and rotors tires and tinting the windows so far I absolutely love this vehicle

Yeah, the smoked corners and yellow fogs look much better in my opinion. Really a nice combo with the black grilles and silver paint. You get that nice pop of yellow color with the dark monochrome of everything else. Some people also tint their highbeams yellow, which I think looks great as well. Takes some work though, since you gotta take apart the whole headlight assembly to do it. What’s next on the agenda? I’m thinking wheels. ARC-8’s are the classic choice, but that might be a bit cliche for ya, haha.

Also, SOLID choice on the smoked corners; that’s what I got. The “clear” corners stick out like a sore thumb and really make a car look old

I've tested every set of e36 corner lights I could get my hands on and like the TYC Smoked the best. They're better quality than DEPO and have the critical double locking tab. With DEPO the single tabs wouldn't fully lock onto my ZKWs and the corners could pop out at speed unless I drilled and zip tied them. If you want them darker I suggest a layer or two of light tint film.

I prefer the orange corners. Gives the car a nice contrast with the silver and makes it look more retro? The car is 20+ years old after all. But that's just me, good video as usual 👍

Love the appearance modifications on your M3! I just got my 1997 m3 e36 3 months ago. Only has 17000 miles on it, my first BMW. Your channel is helping me understand this vehicle a lot more with the how too's. Keep the videos coming and keep driving it like you stole it.

Great tinting match! I really like the eliminated amber look! LED bulbs, depending on the color of their heat sink/housing, also reduce the amber that ends up showing up from the amber bulb being mirrored in the reflectors. I used them to give my headlights a similar look, since the original bulbs were giving off some amber look, even when not illuminated.

i love how the amber corners accentuate the vintage feeling. no modern cars have full amber lenses anymore, just the bulbs. aesthetic mods like this just make the car look cheaper to me, especially as this is entering the collectors market, where only (basically) stock examples are worth a premium. same goes for rims, window tints, exhaust. just my thoughts.

In case you don't want the corners to be lit, and only for blinkers, cover one of the filament contacts under the bulbs with electric tape. I did that when I had clears.

You should maybe try to get the silver tutn signal bulbs, so they are invisible from the outside, but still glow amber. Looks so good like this! I just tinted my turn signals too 😄

I guess I am a traditionalist as I like the amber corner markers better. I have left them on my E36 M3. Tastes and preferences...so enjoy what you like! Car looks great either way.

I prefer the smoked amber corners you had before. It was so unique. No one had those. Everyone just has regular clears or ambers.

Both versions look great. I prefer the orange because of the contrast with the silver paint. Plus I think it makes the car look more aggressive. Either way you have a great car bro 👍🏼💯

Always Love the look of clear corners on e36/46. I feel like the ambers give the car an older retro look but the clears make it hard to tell what year these cars are from. They still look modern.

Dude, also the corner light bulbs have 2 nubs in the back; on each bulb tape one of them off with a tiny square of electrical tape... This turns off the corner lights when your headlights are on, and only activates them when you use your blinkers/ hazards. Looks better when you have the smoked or clear corners. No real reason for the actual lights to be on anymore (when you don’t have the ambers on) Alright I’m done. Nice car!

I forget which episode, but complained about being too tall and your legs hitting the door. I suggest getting a steering wheel spacer/ extender. That way you can move your seat back and still be able to reach the steering wheel. If you can't find one online, I think any local machine shop could make you one fairly cheap.

I'm curious, have you ever considered a rear diffuser? I keep looking at mine, seems like something is just missing on the back of the car behind the rear wheels. I was thinking about getting one for mine but I think I'd have to paint it to color match it.

Great vid! Sad golf though, they are kinda incomparable, can't compare VW to BMW especially not e36 to any golf... I understand it's cheap and all but I mean... lol Good job on the website! Like the idea and effort, awesome move! I'm a fan of white blinkers, really does change the car. I'm driving with white ones too. Change them every now and then, it's awesome and cheap thing to do. Kind of a fan of yellow fog light covers but since your car is artiksilber and even blinkers are white/gray now, i really don't feel it fits there... Would keep 'em white/smoked, really goes well, for me fills in the car much nicer than that sharp yellow... Overall Good Effort bud, keep it 💯 Cheers!

Great looking car. I’ve been trying to find a loon a like of my e36 M3 and this is about it now. Looks to be titanium silver, Contour wheels, yellow fogs, everything. Except my headlights are foggy and I have the stock spoiler

If you have euro headlights you'll choose euro. If you have the stock US headlights you'll choose those. 👍

They also sell clear with smoke. That is what I bought for the same reason. The plain clear signal lights are WAY to bright next to the black inside painted headlights.

They are tapped into the corner lights for power. When you turn those lights on it powers the halos.

I didn't think I would like the yellow fog lights, but with the orange deletes it looks sharp. Maybe paint your brake cailpers yellow to add more accent... I painted my BMW blue.

HELP! I ordered the headlight but after two weeks they got back to me and said they don't make them anymore. They said DEPO ZKW were still available. I'm not sure but I think they are the same but without the led ring (which is the main reason I want them other than being glass that wont fade) Can I order these and add the LED ring on myself? Do you know of any other place that still sells them?

since u did headers, get a supercharger from hyde motorworks, and tell them jermaine / imschwaggy sent you . u will get a pretty good discount . they're very much worth the money . after my supercharged e92 m3 build is "done" im getting a m5x/s5x swapped e30 and supercharging it with one of their kits .

Frankly, the Euro cars looked more like this. Euro M3s came with clear corners and yellow fogs were equipped in some markets. So this isn’t far from stock at all, minus the angel eyes.

@@TranceFur the yellow ones are only for France i think, for the corners, in Europe stock they came with yellow corners, here in the past swap with the white optick was e big deal, now the trend is back to stock orange, but it depends for the color of the car. But my opinion is that if Gavin is bored with that look, he must go with GT2 wing, gt spliters in front, and some BBS RC/RS wheels :)

About 10 centuries. When we were going to race his engine blew. Over revved and broke a valve off which destroyed the head. He has swapped in a new engine and transmission which obviously took a while. Now his new engine has a bad head gasket losing compression in cyl 2 and has to change that. Parts on the way lol.

\[#_#]/ run 24psi through any car and beat on it daily it’s going to lose reliability. When your car sees that kind of pressure and has 242k come see me. Haha. It’s just a fun daily anyway. I have a new car in the works. We may do a video on it once I get more progress.

Brotha, you should drop in some Shrick or sunbelt cams... the Dyno sheets all over bf.c have s52s w/ cams around 240-260 WHP all day. Meanwhile, us M52 guys are happy with 200-220 WHP after cams, etc... BUT we’ll never have the m3/S52 torque 🤷‍♂️

I have thought about that. I love the high revving N/A experience. Cams are pricey though! Spend a bit more and you could go turbo with a lot more power. Hard decision!

For sure for sure; it’s a lot of money for not that much HP relatively. Biggest power mod for an NA car but the most expensive. Anyway, the e36 turbos are everywhere these days... just sucks for us here in CA because we won’t pass smog :( so we could do it, but would have to remove every 2 years to pass mechanical/visual smog tests, then reinstall. Not worth it for us here in CA. It’s a bummer

Not sure what is going on man. That may be an issue with your internet connection. Site loads easily for me an a few others I just had test it. LMK if you still have issues later.

Yellow fog! NO! NO! NO! NO! it makes e36 looks older than it is... France also not using yellow fog lights since that requirements expired since 1993... (yellow fog lights introduced in 1930 up to 1993 after that people use white!
