thanks for sharing this, I'm so impressed. When I came across this bike/frame design it immediately stood out to me. This bike has some seriously nice design cues. Then to learn that they're actually made in the US. Even better. Really stoked on this brand, think it will be my next bike.

To me it looks nearly identical to the new Pivot switchblade. I love how the top tube runs parallel to the rear triangle.

Much more relaxed head tube angle than the 2020 SB. I'd expect this to do better downhill but not be so fun in the tight & twisty as the Pivot.

that rubber cable guide by the main pivot is a good idea, on the alloy frame it as hard to run a cable using their lug and a full chain guide at the same time

Are they going to make aluminum versions too? 5500 seems to high for gx build. That should be x01 with fox pricing. I hope they make the alloy version.

Sooooo the geo (reach, stack, wheelbase) on the medium 2020 scout is the closest to my size large commencal meta am v3, actually the medium scout is slightly bigger in reach, and wheelbase then my large commencal... I really don’t think I would ever wanna ride anything roomier or longer then what I’m currently on as the front end tends to wash On flat corners unless I’m really aggressively diving in and weighting my fork.... I’m 5 10” and weight about nothing (140lbs) do you guys think I should go schmedium or go large and have it be considerably bigger then my current large commencal meta am?

Medium! I'm 5'10" also, and I like the medium Scout. Comparing geo to something you know, like you've done, is the best way to determine sizing if you can't test ride the bike. Dan at Fanatik

Mojo 4 vs scout ? Trying to find something that is as playful as my chromag stylus but as a full suspension. I think the transition weighs to much for its purpose when i compare it to a mojo or even a full enduro bike like my rocky instinct

Both are awesome playful bikes. Can't go wrong either way. I owned a Scout myself and found it to be super playful (also own a Stylus currently!) I'd say the scout is going to be more similar to your stylus than a Mojo4 because the Scout is also rocking a slacker 64 degree headtube. So it's definitely a more aggressive "trail" bike and closer to an "enduro" rig. If weight is a concern then Mojo4 will win out, but if you want an aggressive full suspension trail bike thats a similar feel to your Stylus go Scout. -Rich

Is Transition remaining direct to consumer with the standard builds and we can still only build custom through you? I assume nothing has changed there and that you'll be selling frame only or frame and custom.

Someone help me out here...a GX build for $5500. Why would I drop that kind of coin for a consumer direct bike that specs very much like a brand carried by a local bike shop (LBS) for the same coin? If I buy from my LBS I know they’re going to take care of me when I have questions, concerns or problems (not to mention I’m helping someone I know and like who’ll go ride the trails with me).

@@JonnyBeta9 Transition also sells through many LBS's. If you wanted to get a full custom build through us we can certainly help out with that, or if you wanted Transitions GX build you can find your local Transition dealer and they can certainly help you get on an awesome bike. Transition does a bit of a hybird sales model where they sell both directly from their site and through LBS's.

very expensive bike to have brake cable external . my bike is way cheaper not carbon but all cable internally set and a fox elite suspension setup

External rear brake routing was a purposeful choice I would say. Much easier to swap out brakes without having to bleed them or cut the lines if they are externally routed. Transition hasn't ever been a value brand though, but I feel like you get what you pay for.

Agreed. Routing brake cables internally is a pain from start to finish. I'm appreciative that they chose to route it externally. Cheers - Dan at Fanatik

Yeah never got to do a full ride review but I can say the Scout has been one of the most popular choices for employee bikes here at the shop. I can think of 5 employees who have or had the scout as their personal bike. 4 of them on the carbon scout and one employee just picked up the new alloy version. Its a super fun do it all bike for sure!

First bike that's got my attention in a while but the price is all sorts of NO! Bike companies need to calm the fuck down and stop believing their own hype. Shame as it looks sick!

Not cheap! But also not cheap to design, manufacture, test, market, distribute, support, and all the rest that goes into bringing a new bike to market 😉. And this one does have a LOT of little nuanced features that drive that premium up. Thank you for watching though! - Dan at Fanatik

It is so much better to work with. Having to cut your line and replace the olive and barb any time you want to do swap brakes is a major pain. I, for one, am really glad they made that design choice. - Dan at Fanatik
