This translucent effect is produced from the addition of fiberglass threads to the concrete mixture. but there is another material that is as strong as the concrete yet absolutely trasperant which is resin.

its just tiny holes in the cement itself.. when a normal cement is shone under light, the whole base of the cement looks dark. but with that cement with lots of holes, light is allowed to pass through. when an object blocks the light, like that finger, it will form a show like you seen on the vid.. the tiny shadow created actually joins together due to your brain.. try it on a opaque acrylic.. ^-^ (i nvr tried before but it should work. technically.. >.>)

There could be many creative architectual possibilities with this material. One might be to admit sunlight into a building space where windows are not practical either because of security or privacy issues. Also, they would admit sunlight while not allowing the energy loss of traditional window glazing. Imagine a walkway of this material with flood lights underneath!

are you familiar with fact that cement is not an isolation material .. (but yes transparent isolation material is alredy developed its some kint of foam and exept wontherful bluish transparend shades it can protect against 2000c and have extrme termodinamic resistancei)

No shit, but it's certainly possible to create a steel structure which would be adequate or design the layout so that supporting concrete walls are in areas where you would want solid walls anyway, I just don't see why you would want this if you wanted a translucent wall\floor, it looks crappy.

You have your definitions wrong. Transparent means all light passes through, and thus you can see everything. Translucent means some light goes through, so you can see shadows, but not whole figures.

No it will not show this effect, when you´d make a cement out of glass, it would just be as gray, the galssparticles are so mixed with the cement, it wount be transculent.

NO ONE ON EARTH would make cements with holes in them HAHAHA!! it would be ULTRa flimsy and ULTRA breakable. plus those are not holes. those are actually fiber optic crystals... it will distribute the force from one block/part of the cement to another part of the cement... so really those "crystals" are just force transferees and just there so the cement building wont colaps
