Transparent wood uses epoxy, which is plastic so it's essentially infusing plastic on a cellulose framework. Epoxy resin fumes become a potential issue. As a way to divert silicon from making glass to microchips it has a niche however.

Yes! It seems to be cellulose reinforced epoxy, not transparent wood. And those amazing images show conventional glazing materials.
