M. Night movies are either hit or miss and nothing in between.

Knowing M Night, the father has imposter syndrome who impersonates the butcher and the daughter is actually a hostage who tricked him to impersonate her father and set up the whole trap but her plan got foiled because Lady Raven is the accomplice and the butcher’s lover. The mid credits will roll and shows the butcher and lady raven as the new duo villain that ties to Glass and Split. Paving the way to a new sinister six movie.

Jamie just made that up about as to why the cops are there. He has no idea. I'm guessing it has nothing at all to do with "the butcher". It will be something completely unrelated. Same goes for the guy chained in the basement. There will be an explanation for it and it won't be that the dad (or the daughter) are "the butcher".

Hayley Mills is also in the movie, so it could have been her wanting to take the young girl to the show, but couldn't go last minute, and she is the butcher. Notice in the scene when picking up the butcher knife, we can see few details about who it actually is as well
