Hi, the best thing is to keep them hungry if they are young birds and get them used to trapping when you want them to with a whistle or a bell. It’s amazing how quickly you can get them coming in through the trap with a bit of training.

@@bricktop2785 Other way round! If you’re sprint/middle distance racing then feed then an ounce of corn each day and get them doing exactly what you want during the week, trapping when the whistle is blown, any that don’t come in don’t get fed, then feed as much as they want on Thursday evening, with a very light feed or even none on a Friday. (That’s if you’re basketing for a Saturday race.) Old birds are a little different and do require a bit more attention but the above will work for young birds.

@@racingpigeonworld8879 thank you so much im starting this today. All the lofts by me like dangling the carrot as my grandad says but don't want to help me. I've even cured the hawks around us and they still won't help. Thank you 😊
