Our very large horse, Sage, fell into one of the plastic hay feeders and was trapped. For over 4 years we had used these as feeders (with several horses stepping in and out of them, as they do) and had no accidents. Sage's hips had been sore from a few days previous, I think he just didn't get his hind legs up and over the side and it "tripped" him... Sage and the other ones who got in and out of the feeders no longer have access to them! Our surveillance video cameras caught the rescue - I tell you, Sage FILLED that feed tub! He's okay and got a lot of Rescue Remedy (so did I!).
