Trapped on a Genie Lift!

While building a house along in the mountains of Montana the Genie 3268 basket controls stopped functioning. The motor was still running but all functions / controls stopped working and I had to repel down. Luckily the ground controls still worked.
After checking the system I found water in the wiring harness. After drying out the wiring it seems to be working again 🤞🏻

You are far better prepared than I would be for that situation. Stinks when you have your day of work planned and something like that throws a wrench into it.

I never like to do that kind of stuff alone, although I have done it. When I wss a kid in the 60's my dad fell anout 15 feet off a ladder working alone and broke both anckles. When one of our tenants came home she found him trying to crawl into the building and got him into her car and took him to the hospital.

Never go on a lift alone. Your ground person can bleed the hydraulics, which they should be shown how to do. At least you have a cell phone.

Is there a foot pedal safety switch you step on while it is running to be able to use the functions of the lift! Maybe the pedal is the culprit! To start the engine after in the air, the foot pedal is not used to start the engine but is used for all the functions of the lift! Hope you get it figured out!

No foot pedal, I had a z45 with a foot pedal, but the GS 3286rt doesn’t have one

will you be able to fix the control panel yourself or will you have to hire a mechanic?

There was moisture in the basket controller and in the wire harness, I dried them out and it seems to be working 🤞🏻
