It was a good day in East Tennessee! Join me as I run my line and as luck may have it, I ended up with some fur in the shed. #CCOTRAPPINGCHALLENGE

New subscriber. Enjoyed the video! Great catches! I got into trapping 2 years ago myself to help save the turkeys too. I’ve caught a lot of critters here in Ga. where I hunt. Keep up the good work!

I believe I know why you have unlimited bobcats for your Tennessee limit now. Same reason you got into trapping: TWRA are concerned about decreased turkey numbers, so they liberalized bobcat season limits. I hope it works. I've gotten 2 cats off of my west Tennessee property this season, and I hope to get a couple more. Will help turkeys, rabbits, and deer.

Awesome videos. I have watched several of them so far. How often do you refresh the baits on your sets, and how long do you usually wait before moving to a new location if you don't get any activity on the set? Thanks for the great videos.

Wait sorry; it's at the end of the video......"Real scents" or "Fatal Scents". I couldn't hear it. I just bought Clint Locklear's Coyote Claymore with the "Hammer" and "Liquid Mice" mixed together. Also his cat glad lure. Seems to bring em in. -Take care Sam.-Paul

Hey Paul! I test every bait that I purchase on my dog before taking it to the field and the reuwsaat fatal step caused a reaction in my dog that was unlike any other. She immediately started licking the air and couldn't get close enough to it. I obviously don't let her eat or physically come in contact with it I just let smell of them but if it worked like that on her I know it'll work like that on coyotes and fox.

Hi East TN Trapper, I just subscribed to your channel and loved this bobcat video. I just got back into trapping after 40 years (well a few piddling with traps) and trap here in Middle Tennessee. I still have yet to get a bobcat so am jealous. If you're near Liberty, TN shoot me a comment and by all means look me up. Thank you for this awe striking video.-Paul

Thank you for subscribing and thank you for the kind words, Paul! I'm unfortunately not near Liberty but I'm sure you'll have a big cat waiting for you here soon. Good luck and tight chains!

Congrats, you will have beautiful pelts from these cats! I am very curious to see your next videos! I was surprised 12:13 you were saying you hoped for coyotes most. Are yotes having higher value on the fur market than bobcats? I thought bobcats had to be better anyway because they are rarer...

Thank you for the comment! I'm sure that bobcats are bringing more in the market, especially here in the southeast but my main goal is land management. The coyotes are overpopulated in my area and I want to try and even out the numbers to the best of my ability. I still put the pelts up, I just don't see dollar signs when I'm trapping.

@@East_TN_Trapper Thanks for your answer! I love everything about fur trapping! I understand, your work is very meritorious, reduction of coyotes is a great service for both landowners and turkey hunters! But still I am fascinated with your bobcats, it’s great you catch them... Really beautiful creatures - and beautiful pelts 😀 I think you should target on them too. What all critters do you trap? Do you trap any critters directly for fur?

@@theneighbor8631 I hit the “report” option since the comment clearly doesn’t follow “community guidelines “. When you do that I guess it deleted the comment from this channel.

I am not a trapper myself but tree huggers always irritate me. It is incredible how dumb these city people are. They eat meat and wear leather happily - and animal suffer 100 times worse at slaughterhouses than in your traps! Pest control helps both to people and to animals - and fur clothing is nice, too. God put animals on Earth for human to use🙂! Do not be discouraged and have tight chains!

Great video. Just found you on KZfaq. I’ve trapped in Northeast Mo for the past 7-8 years. I have always put my dog on the trap offset towards the dirt hole! That being said I was curious why you put yours offset towards the back? Obviously it works great but if it’s an advantage I’d like to try it. Thanks for any advice from a fellow trapper
@East_TN_Trapper

Thanks for commenting Kyle, I hope you enjoy the channel! I've always put my dog away from the hole because I feel I can bed that side of the trap better than the loose jaw. I can normally get my loose jaw bedded solid but just in case I can't, I put it near the front and have a small mound in front of that to hopefully keep the critters foot back towards the pan.

Hi Sam, In re-watching this bobcat video you only briefly mention the bait that you mixed up yourself. You didn't put too much bait out. A couple grams only?? You never mentioned what that bait is........would love to know brother. And hey I remembered you made a "Pipe Dream Set". I only happened to watch 2 videos so far on it. Does it really work? BTW- I have only caught a coon since I wrote you last. Don't let the coyotes get you down bro. I have only caught 2 this year. I will get more and so will you. Take care-Paul

Hey Sam, Your dog's response is called Flehmen behavior. Horses and deer etc. do the same thing. It has a pheromone response. That is evolution brother but alas; how much bait are you using and what about "Pipe Dream" sets bro. Take care-Paul
