I realize that this is an older video, but it still gets viewed. It was good to see that you were able to venture out on the trapline, and learn from the animals😎 If you have also read in books, or learned from video, that you don't want to step in the wolves' tracks when setting snares (if you can help it). They don't respond well to change, or disturbances🧐. Good luck on the trapline, and continue to learn from the animals.

Hey there. We catch wolverines. I like your 330 box set but you won’t have much luck with a closed box. Wolverines are very weary of that. Make a 330 box that’s open on both sides with a 330 on each side. Way more likely to stick their heads in if they can see through. Hope that helps

Funny I was just thinking this morning that it was time for another installment of the Alaskan adventures and then bam there you are. To bad about the wolverine but at least you got to get the final linx in tact. Great video can’t wait for the next video. 👍👍

Was out checking beaver sets this past winter and it was 30 below plus what ever the wind added to it and I spit on the ground and you could hear it clink. Froze clear through before it hit the ground. Those days are always a lot of fun for me, something different rather than the constant -5 the temps in the winter around here hang out at.

Hey man just watched your little Alaskan series. Good to see you made it up here and had some fun. I know what you mean when you said you caught the bug. It sunk its hooks in me good. Thanks for sharing.

Tough having to head home for sure! Thanks for taking us along on this amazing experience. It must be a heck of an effort just to keep the camera running at -40 f!?!

Yeah it took extra time for sure. Electronics had to be carried on inside layers of clothing to keep warm. Filming sucked battery life quite a bit in the cold.

Those older double spring Victor type traps don’t have the strength to hold a Wolverine. If it’s old the spring hams lost its strength you may get lucky but the odds are low. Good content. Hope to see more videos from your channel.

Most wolves caught are on footholds and ya gotta cover them traps with wax dirt or snow. Animals can see them traps if their not covered. Try the new duke 850 footholds.

Something else I was wanting to say is I liked the clips where you started the camera before checking the set. It really made it feel like I was right there.

How do you remember where all you set your traps or tell your traps from others’? Is it always this hard to trap? How do you make a living ‘till you are successful? The trapper’s life is intriguing to me!

this is great information for beginning trappers! i'm just now educating myself on the process as im in Fairbanks and seriously debating the work. I do wonder if there are ways to keep specific predators away from the catch. like special designed hidden cage area etc so the animal doesnt become a food before arrival. any thoughts? are cages allowed?

The video camera panning all over very fast ruins the video - it makes me dizzy. Please stop the camera or slow down to talk about something.
