Big wild boar on the outside of the trap. Trapped 16 wild hogs on the farmer Fields. This makes 55 wild hogs caught in the Game Changer Trap pig trap on the same property. The hog trap I'm using is a Game Changer Traps ST 2X4 pig trap. It has 2 drop gate control by the Vision Cam app from my cell phone. The Pocket Drag are a plus when dealing with wild hogs and dragging them.

I have messed with hogs this time of year a lot. This is one group that no body wanted to attempt to process. The landowner decided to bury them so no wild life would get sick or spread any diseases. Looks like a lot of fun. This is an interesting situation. Those wild pigs initially got loose from the very farmers they are now pestering. My guess is that with all that open space and all that available food stuffs plus the ability of a sow to have 2 liters of a dozen piglets per year and you get a hot mess that cannot be solved. Stay hydrated! You will be busy as long as you want. Maybe even retire from this? Bless

Im surprised these traps are not designed with an overhang type of barrier at the top. You can see the hog jumping at 7:08. He nearly made it. If the traps had a slanted panel at the top it would make it much harder for the hogs to escape, so not sure why they didnt design that in?

@@hollyridgehomestead Exactly... Relating to a bigger gun.... well.... accuracy is far more important. Can take down a deer dead on the spot with a 22 lr using sub-sonics. But true... cant hurt to use a larger rifle. Could have taken that hog out at 400 yards....dead !

@@jerrylansbury9558 very true. I did nail him in the head but the angle of him looking at me the.22 lr bounced off. I’m just glad he decided that revenge wasn’t worth it and headed off.

They’re horrible animals. I’d be more afraid encountering a wild hog than a black bear. Black bears avoid ppl, hogs are aggressive and attack in packs

Then don't watch. This is nothing more than pest control, these pests are just a lot bigger and more aggressive.

I’m curious why you use a .22 as opposed to a .223 or 5.56? Is it because of the potential range difference in those cartridges?
@hollyridgehomestead
@hollyridgehomestead 7 ай бұрын
For inside the trap we can only use a.22 I didn’t have any higher caliber rifle that morning with me for the hog outside that showed up later.

The richochet danger is high with power of 223 also 22 ammo fraction of the price and works fine at that range

@@Joshn645 Before just finding your channel, I watched a young man posted taking down a reasonably good sized boar with a .22 LR lever action carbine from a blind at 25 yards, he said. Further he said he used to shoot'em just behind the shoulder. They'd drop in as bout 50 yards. Then some one told him, not it's just behind the ear. Not sure what'd be the outcome of a charging 300# boar. Just thought I'd share that. Sorry ya missed the big'n. He'll probably be around. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
