@@meganm.9809 Larry is sadly no longer with us, and neither is his kit company, but you can still source parts. He didn't use parts outside of a normal hardware store. Except the netcups, I guess, otherwise readily available. I tried his walmart bags in the kiddy pool grow once and had great results. He was a character. Best luck to you!

There are also early season sorts of plants that are usually grown in cooler countries like Canada, Russia etc. For example, Alena and Impala potatoes ripe fully in about 60 days, while the first harvest can be done in 45 days.

@@JebGardener It seems odd for sure, I know! But to me it sounds both perfect and natural! I love the music here! (I've been exposed to Russian composers, amongst many other types of music, since my infancy.) And almost all videos I watch at 2x speed, btw. This one was "right" for me at 1.5.... With a very few music videos I even slow the playback slightly from "normal"! People are different. People, with various degrees of politeness and consideration, have very frequently pointed this out to me my entire life! 😊. Thank you again for your obviously involved work in creating this fantastic video! 👍❤ And perhaps you weren't asking for all of that?! Lol! More specifically: In this case I hear it as adding to the intensity of the drive of the pieces. The video does the same with the winds in the trees, the lighting, the colors, and the impending and distanced storms... Even your choice in type of narration presentation. These collaborate to fit just rightly to me. 😉 Thanks again!

@@JebGardener Of course high temps reduce root function but at the same time China is a pretty hot place although rice is not tomatoes also. Can bury the cans and cover with white reflective surface to reduce heat in this case.

@@JebGardener I planted a lot, so I got a lot. the germination was ~60%... Wasn't that high, but I got ten-ish plants out of it. The rock wool method you used worked really well for them.

@@JebGardener id recommend a large Fluval Q series pump if you want something simple and cheap. Pushes enough air for what you’re doing and it’s adjustable flow. Also very quiet. Then a ring shaped air stone or ring shaped tubing to have air bubbles all over the tub is a big help. One single straight piece stone works but not great. You want the water to churn. Look up the Deep Water Culture growing style. Lot of growers find success in having the water turbulent. Lots of gas exchange. No more nasty film on top.
