Now that is a cool remake of this cool guitar!!! James is my favorite musician of all time!! I mostly love his Snakebytes and Explorers! Great Build and awesome tone! I love the mat black, but I'd have to say the way that pick guard came out is my favorite part. I'm a metal rhythm guitarist and have Explorers and Vs. Metallica was the reason I started playing back in the early 90's. Personal favorite album is Ride The Lighting.

Rusty came out great. I am impressed. If you look at my icon you will see my 84 Explorer I bought brand new. After 37 years and several paint jobs and pick up sets it still rips and has served me on gigs for 3 decades.

you and me both pal. I'm a lefty and in the UK too. The choice of lefty guitar is just awful. Schecter have been my only option and I love them but the single body shape kills me every time. I love LP's and Explorers but Schecter don't do any EXP and LP styles

Rusty looks great! I'm about to build a white Hetfield inspired Explorer myself! I'm torn between Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning as far as my favorite album of all time, I can't decide between the two. That said, I also love St Anger and Death Magnetic is way under rated. Also Garage Inc. has some killer tracks, especially on the 2nd disk. Greatest rock band ever. Great channel, keep up the good work.

I’ve always wanted the Def Leppard Phil’s guitar that black and white with the gold I’ve seen reps built but way to princely. I thought of doing a diy but I’m not that great on setting strings and wiring. And to find one to look like his with the black and white trim. The body. Is hard. ..I like the black album.

In the future if you need a rustlike finish, try Brownells gun parts. Before we blued firearms, we browned them, wich is essentially rusting them in stages till you have a protective finish. I'm not familiar with the process, but Brownells sure is and they have anything you'd need to do it several times over for sale anytime. Just a thought..

Sounds nice man. Chris Haskett of Rollins Band has a sig PRS 9 string, octave strings in E A D strings, so he can melody/solo on the plaun strings still. Neck/Headstock is a 12 string size, dowl plugged, redrilled and refinished. Worth a look for reference. Cheers man

That’s really cool. Two things though, why not route out a battery box on the back. Every time you have to change the battery you have to take the pick guard off. Also you didn’t put a Epiphone logo back on the headstock.

You should do more latching killswitches to SWITCH things up a bit. They're nice as a mute when changing guitars live. You could also do latching switches for coil taps or pick up switching. I'd be interested to see if you could wire up the momentary killswitch to jump between the neck and bridge pickup rapidly to see what that might sound like.

Master of Puppets is my favorite album. Leper Messiah my favorite song. Orion, their greatest instrumental. Damage Inc. is one of their best thrashers in their whole catalog. Disposable Heroes is the ultimate metal epic. Hetfield's unstoppable right hand, one of the key ingredients of the greatest metal album of them all. Great job on the guitar, Rusty looks great. You are talented. Now I want an Explorer.

I'm HUGE Cliff Burton fan and I started playing music because his bass playing inspired me when I was a kid. I was 5 when Kill em All released, I remember asking my mom if I could order it out of Columbia-House when I saw their picture they looked so cool and heavy metal lol. But my absolute favorite album is Garage days Re-Revisited. The songs they covered were so good! They made them their own. How many of you remember Columbia-House? You could order 15 cassettes for a penny but then they would get you on the back end pretty good lol. But you could come up with some good fake names and order the albums and have them sent to a friend's house and end up getting the albums for free. But kids that's dishonest.

Love the channel! Have a question if anyone can help, I got me a new Jackson RR24 with a floating bridge, beautiful guitar and it’s neck through, anyways after playing with it for a bout a week the high e (especially at the 5th fret) makes a pinching noise, I don’t know if it’s a fret problem or a string issue, I’m still new to the Floyd rose system so any had issues like this and can help id greatly appreciate it 🤘🏻🤘🏻

It sounds like the action on the treble side might be a bit low and might be rubbing or contacting frets close to the body or even the pickups. To raise the action to make sure there is enough clearance for the string to vibrate, but also keep it relatively low as to make it easier to fret notes, all you need to do is take an Allen wrench and insert it into the bridge's front post on the base plate of the bridge on the treble side (high e) and rotate it left a few times until you no longer hear the "pinched" sound. Thank God trash to thrash is back. That rusty is raging, I'm not much for Gibson's but I'd take that one any day. Not a fan of newer Metallica, so my favorite would be a tie between Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

My favourite Papa Het guitar is the EXP MX250, I sure wish they would start making them again! I realise circumstances wouldn't allow that now (The fact that Gibson sued LTD/ESP over the explorer shape and likeness copyright) and probably the fact that Hetfield won't probably be sticking around with Esp for too much longer, I heard that Gibson are in the process of making him an offer he can't refuse, just like they did with Dave Mustaine .. P.s. can anybody tell me the year and the details of the ruling outcome for the Gibson vs ESP/LTD suit - if you have any links for transcripts also, that would be neat!
