Used palette paper can be a great inspiration and jumping off point for your art journal pages. Watch as I turn used palette paper bound for the trash can into a beautiful page in my Kraft journal.

Beautiful colors. Using a stencil brush and a wet medium is what pushes the paint underneath and causes blobs. Try using a sponge, less paint and a pounce movement works best when usung stencils. You can always build more opaque layers by repeating. TYFS 😊Kate

Thanks, Kate. I do use sponges occasionally but find they get so hard and are only good for a few uses. It seems so wasteful. Do you wash yours out?

@eb_mixedmedia sonetines, it depends. I use the dollar tree green scrubbing/ foam part. Just cut into 10 small pieces. You get about 60 pieces for a dollar plus the scrubbing bit left over for dishes . I'm fugal lol

This is a store-bought journal. It's a Dina Wakely 6x6 square journal from Ranger.

It's a Royal & Langickel white bristle brush 1/2 inch stencil brush. I got it from Let's Make Art.

I usually just use plain copy paper. Often I rescue it from the recycle bin at work.
