Why do you call less than half of AC a "full circuit"? I would now not call anything but Bhulbhule to Dhanpus Phedi near Pokhara a "full circuit", which takes at least 18 days. Also: why dod you not walk the amazing high trail via Ghyaru and Ngawal which is the true highlight of the route (no road there either)?

Hey Guys, Loved your Annapurna Circuit videos and especially this travel guide! Super helpful. Thank you so much!! A few questions: Did you go in the beginning, middle or end of September? Did you just use the blankets that the lodging provided or did you have your own sleeping bags? How did you find your porter? It sounded like he was incredibly helpful.

Hey David, Thanks for watching, we are glad that the videos were helpful to you. 1. we started our trek around the 10th of September. 2. We didn't carry any sleeping bags or blankets. Everything was provided by the accomodation where we stayed at. They were pretty clean. 3. You can find the porters or guides in Pokhara. Yes, a porter is definetly helpful with bags, directions and also took us to the right accomodations.

Do you need to book in advance or can you also find one the day before? And did your hotel or an agency help you with it? Also how much do you tip them at the end?

I stumbled on this video and I think it's well done but it also sounds like most people in the comment aren't used to trekking so IMHO the advice on clothing and gear should be accompained by some warnings.... 46 people died in october 2014 on the Annapurna circuit due to a snowstorm, mostly because they were unprepared and inexperienced. Please do your homework,in the mountains even in fair weather you carry what you may need in a storm, and don't expect others (even porters or guides) to always save you and think in your place. When in an hostile environment there are really no shortcuts, personal responsibility is paramount.

Hi guys! Currently adjusting my budget for this trip but I'm really confused as to how much clothing to take. I get that the outer layers are just 1 per item (one jacket, for example). But the inner layers confuse me a lot. Did you take 1 t-shirt per day? How many leggings? How many socks? Etc. Would really appreciate the help!! ♥️
@LetsMeetAbroad
@LetsMeetAbroad Жыл бұрын
Haha no, 3/4 T-shirts is enough! Maybe look into merino wool clothing, they stay fresh and don’t stink! I had just 1 walking legging (cleaned it every night with baby wipes), 1 shorts and 1 thermos legging for the evenings. 3/4 pair of socks is also enough! Of course things get dirty, but it’s part of it when hiking! You really don’t need that much! There are enough people who have just same set of clothes every day 😀

Thank you Luca. Yes, it is an amazing trek, a must do if you love hiking. There are few shorter paths where you can skip the Tilicho lake and finish the trek a bit sooner. And if you want to make it longer, you can avoid taking the jeep in the beginning until Besisahar and the bus ride in the end from Jomsom. As there was not much to see from that place on and we got to spend more days in Kathmandu.

Why did you walk the valley floor from Pisang to Manang, when there is a much better high scenic trail via Ghyary and Ngawal? Also sleeping in either village speeds up the acclimatisation, as they are higher than Manang. Annapurna CIRCUIT goes from Pokhara to Pokhara taking over 3 weeks. How is an 11 day section a "complete Circuit"?
@LetsMeetAbroad
@LetsMeetAbroad 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, I believe almost everyone did this route, maybe there was a better trail, but this one was already wonderful!! 😄 we did go from Pokhara to Pokhara, we just used a bus and jeep in the beginning and the end. Wouldn't do it different as well, didn't seem really attractive walking those parts with al the busses etc.

@@LetsMeetAbroad What made AC the "best trek in the wold" was the great geographical and cultural variation along the route, not just hiking over a high pass. There is still a section, very very much core AC, without roads, namely the Tatopani to Landruk trail over Ghorepani and visit to Poon Hill. Amazing views over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna, Machapuchare etc. That is as much AC as Manang valley. What comes to the high trail via Ghyaru and Ngawal, that has been the "Official AC trail" for a decade already. Because it is a much better and impressive trail, and no road. I walked it already in 1986, when there were no roads anywhere, and even then it was far superior to the valley floor trail. Guides tend to keep quiet about the high route, as they want to minimise climbing, i.e. are lazy and not thinking what is best for the client. It is sad ro hear that trekkers are still unaware of this variation, can they not read maps?

We're going to do this trek in november. Really looking forward to it! You video helps a lot with the preperations :) We were planning to do it without guid or porter, but we found out since this year it is obligated.. How would you recommend to arrange a guide? Do you need to book in advance or can you also find one the day before? And did your hotel or an agency help you with it? Also how much do you tip them at the end?

We just got a porter! 😀 really can’t remember the tip.. but we just walked around in Pokhara asking everywhere! There are a lot of porters and guides there! I’m sure the hotels can also help with this.
