Hi Guys, It's wonderful hearing what people think of the Last Frontier and how it differs from their home state of Texas. I'm sure both you and Cynthia will be remembered as the best host and guides they have ever met and you guys gave them memories that will be with them forever. Great job guys. Cheers! James

Ginger is from TX and we lived in Palmer, AK for 3 years and absolutely loved it. We hope to go back next year for the summer. The problem is, Scott said if we go back he won’t want to leave.

Fascinating that you would have someone from Texas show up to your get-together. The two largest States represented. Am I the only one to chuckle at the fact that you included the clip of Cynthia heading to the door of the Revel and Jim jumping up out of his seat because he felt something crawling on him? I still remember you saying that the ground crawls and comes alive as it gets dark. It’s somewhat refreshing to see the return of Ember-Cam and her bounding through the water! You’re lucky she doesn’t have gills. You’d never see her again. The next Revel get-together you have you need to make sure you get more “intro shots” which are essentially the stream crossing shots you use. Try to schedule a water day, a mud day, a parking lot day, a scenic day, etc. where you gather everyone up and say that you’re shooting the B-Roll of everyone for the captioned introductions. In fact, there’s no reason you couldn’t pound out three or four of them in an hour's time. This way when you’re highlighting the various people who’re attending, you have more to use than the river crossing (which is still great, by the way). Then you could even change it up where the introductions of the individual Revel’s are clipped from different B-Roll shots. Van 1 gets the river, Van 2 gets the shoreline, Van 3 gets muddy, Van 4 gets traversing a fallen tree, etc. It spices it up because you’ll have all that footage of everyone, but you can choose to break it up as you desire. You even had all the vans in the same parking lot. All you would have had to do is have everyone stand in front of their van and shoot ten seconds of footage each. That’s long enough for subtitles to be read by anyone. That’s just my two cents, which isn’t actually worth anything these days. Cynthia, great job on backing up a bit to include Jim in the shot of the interview. I know you have several cameras. If you feel adventurous with the interviews and you know people are going to remain where they are standing, you can always set up the other camera on a tripod and film from a different angle and alternate views between questions. I’ve seen people doing this with up to five different cameras just so they can mix and match as they see fit when they know it’s a one-time interview. Another possibility is that when an interviewee has been established, there’s no harm in keeping the audio from the interview running and then switching the video out to show what they’re talking about. In this case the man referenced mountains, waterfalls, the coast, and other sites. This way as the man is talking, we’re seeing what he’s talking about, and he becomes a narrator for a bit. The best part about it is that you already have a sizable video collection of footage from all over Alaska. It’d be easy to pull different clips provided you keep them with you on a portable hard drive. You’ve done an amazing job putting all of this together and sharing it with all of the people who weren’t fortunate enough to be there with you all. Thanks for bringing us all along and keep up the great work!

We do have a few more intro shots to add as the time is right. We just haven't pulled all the footage off the memory cards yet since it is memory intensive on the laptop. We will be adding different ones throughout the expedition north! We definitely will do more of them next time we do this. Those are great ideas! Love it! We really did these impromptu on the last night of the expedition. We had talked about it but stayed so busy visiting with everyone we never took the time to actually do it. We definitely like doing the different angles and if we would have planned better we would have lol. We absolutely thought about laying our footage of the areas on top while they were talking but we debated it because it was our footage and we didn't want to give that appearance but ... maybe on the next one we do we will do just that. I see how it would bring more context into what they were describing. We will try that next week where applicable. Thank you for the wonderful ideas and confirming the things that we were questioning. We should have just done it :). Have a great rest of the week Brian!

When i was in texas, all i saw on the roads were trucks. I asked to myself, for what.. its not really rugged like Alaska is. Being from Alaska, I know that bigger vehicles, Iike trucks, suvs, or anything that can handle the rugged terrain are an absolute Godsend
