This week we are showing our travel vlog about visiting three gorgeous villages deeper into the countryside of Portugal. It was so quiet and authentic to stay in Castelo Novo for six days and we maybe saw one other tourist during our time there. Monsanto Village sees more tourists but it is completely worth it in every way to make the beautiful drive to see it. The fresh swimming holes in Castelo Novo and Penha Garcia were perfect for the sunny afternoons with the kids and we all ate SO MUCH fruit around the area... especially figs and grapes. You will love this area for your next Portugal trip!

My wife and I discovered and explored Monsanto in May of 2018. That town is truly an amazing and beautiful place to visit. We fell in love. I discovered that many Portuguese people had never been there or heard about it. In 2019 we made reservations to stay at the small hotel in Monsanto. Then COVID put a halt to those travel plans. We look forward to re-visiting this hidden gem and staying overnight. There are many other great places to see in Portugal, including the Douro River valley. Kudos to you and your husband for traveling with your children. Safe travels and thank you for taking the time to put this wonderful video together!

Wow, how amazing will it be to actually stay in a hotel in Monsanto! Such calm and beautiful days. Make sure to check out the gorgeous water spot to swim in that we featured in another of our short Portugal videos because it is only around a ten minute drive from Monsanto :)

Loved your video on Monsanto . We visited the village a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves . We have a house near Pedrogao Grande so it’s great to see your travelogues and get some ideas for visits .

@@daneandjillie9803 we will be buying a house on the Azores. We were leaving from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada last March but the govt. shut down all travel. We just got out of Lisbon to the US. Undeterred .....we will be back once the ban is listed. Having a difficult time getting our NIF.
