Some airlines check your carryon for free At the Gate... Just grab any medications that you may have and electronics that you may need. Make sure you ask for a receipt! Voila!! You don't have to worry about lifting that sucker up...

Another tip is not to over pack your bag. Depending on the overheads space if you pack it too much and it's "bulging" at the seems. You might have issues getting your bag in. Some airlines have those sizes in front of the gate so you can see if it will actually fit in the overhead bin.

Thank you for pointing out that flight attendants are not supposed to help out with the luggage! Sometimes people come on board with luggages that are obviously not cabin appropriate and way too heavy, and they're looking at us like why aren't you lifting it for me?

That Bluesmart carry-on is a great idea!! One concern: it weighs at 3.8 kg. isn't the maximum carry-on weight something around 7-10 kg? that gives you only 3.2- 6.2 kg for your stuff. hmmmm I bet its the charger's fault !

Hi there! So, I am going to NYC/Long Island for seven days this summer for a mission trip with my church. We have two free days in NYC, and every day after doing work we do a night activity. I don't use a lot of makeup but I love clothes, shoes, and hair! I want to get some packing cubes, but I don't know if I have enough money to get any of the products that you use! And we also need to bring an air mattress because the church we are staying at doesn't have beds! We have to bring all of our toiletries, including towels for both swimming and bathing! And, since I love hair, I want to bring hair irons! Should I use a regular suitcase or one that is a little larger with two layers, one suitcase and one duffel? And, I want to have enough room for souvenirs! What should I do??? And do you suggest any super inexpensive but great products so that I can cut down in size and weight? And do you suggest any things I should and shouldn't bring? And it is only a three hour flight on southwest, so should I bring a carry and If so what size? The suitcase is not a good idea to take to the airport. I have friends who own this piece of luggage and when they've taken the suitcase through security check, the personnel have thought it to be a bomb because of all the cables and battery in it. I don't recommend buying it
