Hi, Just a tip if you travel internationally make sure to take a pic of your passport data page and email it to yourself. In the event you lose your passport you can always retrieve it.

Great tip on the Birth Certificate....I never thought of bringing a copy with me on all my travels and i recall a past video of you describing the BS you went through when you lost your passport...Glad you reminded....I guess you came to the RP with just the shirt on your back if you only brought carry on..Thought I was a mimimalist.haha

#1 agree, always have to fill out forms on the plane, make sure you have a pen in your personal bag that you carry on the plane. #2 a dual sim unlocked phone is a great item to have, just buy a sim with a load when you get to the Philippines. #8 if you are moving to the Philippines, bring multiple copies of Apostilled birth certificates, you may need them...do not lose your passport. #10 Recommend fluing direct to Mactan International Airport in Cebu. Never had a problem there with baggage, and much faster to get through the airport, unless your destination is actually Manilla area. #14 Yeah watch out for buffets, the food may have been sitting there all day, or be from the day before. Especially vegetables, sometimes these can be grown with parasites or bacteria that if not cooked properly can cause sickness. Good video, lots of good advice here, Thanks, Mr. Cool...Jim

I am considering a future trip. My questions are if you stay in a hotel will they ask to hold your passport. I had that in China and told them where they could go. They made a copy. Will they ask to hold passport at the hotel? Other question is what denomination should your exchanged currency be transferred to. I know you don't mean a bag of centavos but what denomination do you suggest?

My Experience is going to the PH 7 times 2x per year for 10-12 days. In the PH all hotels make a copy of your passport. Bring newer $100 bills. No folds, no corners missing as the money changer may reject. For a $100 bill get six P500 peso notes and the rest in P100 notes. A typical meal at a mall is P1000-1500 pesos. ATMs charge a $5 withdraw fee in addition to your bank fees. Buy all your snacks and water at a 7-11 never from a street vendor as they sell reuse water bottles and glue the caps back on. Always eat at mall restaurants. Only book hotels with an in room safe.

I always dress nice in the Philippines. I wear pants and shoes almost everyday. I know most expats dress like the locals, but I can't let the Philippines break me like that. You dress like that in any other country you will be looked upon as a bum.

the pen tip is actually solid always have a pen and a small notpad in ur handbagage to write down times and things and fill documents ..the rest is standard tips that any traveler should know..well except american travelers then..haha

No mosquitos bite. They use their mouth/ When a mosquito bites you, it pierces the skin using a special mouthpart (proboscis) to suck up blood. As the mosquito is feeding, it injects saliva into your skin. Your body reacts to the saliva resulting in a bump and itching. Some people have only a mild reaction to a bite or bites.
