Thank you for doing this video. I appreciate your efforts to be kind and not offensive in sharing this information. I particularly liked Craig’s advice on thinking about what will happen if the ride breaks down. “Be honest with yourself,” “know your limits,” “ask for what you need” Excellent advice!

Here is a tip if you're in any resort or large town...usually somewhere close there is a Bass Pro Shop. As a large man, I find that their "house" brand of clothing, "Redhead" (its a bird logo, not the auburn tresses that I and many happen to have coincidentally) usually has sizes going many, many x's up to 6 or so. So there you go in a clothing emergency--and they happen to be very high quality and wearable after the trip too. BY THE WAY re airline seats? Capt. "Sully" from the famous Hudson River emergency landing is leading a crusade now to STOP the airlines from further shrinking seats and aisles and legroom not for comfort reasons but for SAFETY> He says that the evacuation drills that all new airliners have to go through to get certified by the FAA are utterly out of date because of the way airlines have jammed more and more seats into the planes, and that means that in an emergency it would take much longer than the law requires to evacuate.

Masterfully done! I think you all did a wonderful job of handling a sensitive topic. It's very true that people come in all shapes, sizes and capabilities and so often they are shamed or scared into not enjoying vacations. Best take away is not to let insecurities stop you from embracing the life you have and accept that your differences do not mean you cannot have the experience, just that it requires a little accommodation.

Great tips video. Have done the Southwest extra seat thing before when I was going from Vegas to Orlando. My ex was on the heavy side and was able to purchase an extra seat then got the money refunded once we completed our round trip travels. It did take 7-10 days after to get the refund but you do get refunded for that extra seat. Also you are able to get priority boarding as well just can't sit in an exit row. Highly recommend doing that if you are a bigger person and flying Southwest especially if traveling cross country like we were. Makes the 4 1/2 hour flight a lot more comfortable.

I’m “Pooh-sized” as well, and this was a lot of great information! I’ve said it before, but the Dreams Unlimited Show has become one of my favorites in the lineup! You guys are funny AND informative, which is a hard line to walk and all 3 of you make it look easy. ❤️

I'm glad I'm not alone! This video was so funny and relatable. I am a member of a Disney plus size group on FB and it helps! Knowing ahead of time if I will fit on new rides helps ease my anxiety. I'm so glad slinky dog is soooo roomy!

Thanks guys. I'm tall and, um, "voluptuous" (among other things) and I love that you guys took the time to give us folks some tips to help us enjoy traveling. Kevin, right there with you on the sunburns, but I love aloe vera gel too, which is safe for your face. Also, you can get the anti-chaffing sticks off of Amazon. There's one I like that actually says it is for "chub rub" which I think is funny. Another tip I practice is I bring my own seatbelt extension with me in my carry on. On some airlines, I don't need them, but for the ones where I do, it is easier for me to just have my own, rather than having to ask, which while I don't care about, others may be too embarrassed, and I have heard of airplanes not having enough of them onboard. You can also get those on Amazon for like $10.

As someone who is larger, as a women especially, I don’t like my arms, I don’t like my legs. I don’t like wearing shorts or tank tops for that reason. But in Florida I don’t give one single care about what my arms or legs look like because it’s too darn hot to wear any more clothes than necessary. Please trust me. It’s better to be a little self conscious than uncomfortably and even dangerously hot. Just wear the tank top and shorts. Lol

Thank you for this episode! I'm tall (for a woman), pooh-shaped, plus I have a very long torso. I have a picture of me sitting next to my brother (who is 4 inches taller than me) and it looks like I am sitting on his lap. All of that being said, travel definitely has brought about some challenges. In the past few years, I've started using an ECV at Disney to help with all of the walking required. On other trips, I just use my cane. I also have very fair skin. I mean I get a burn going through a drive thru with the window down kind of fair. My past 2 trips to Disney (June and September) I wore a rash guard UV shirt (they have them online in plus sizes) under my T-shirt whenever the UV index was above 4. I didn't get over heated and I didn't have to worry with sunscreen. Being a person of a certain size that travels alone most of the time, there are just some places that I can't easily reach to apply the sunscreen without turning into a contortionist (ouch) or asking a total stranger for help (eww). You are absolutely correct about knowing yourself. You have to do that little bit extra research to find what you are comfortable with. Personally, I prefer driving to flying. The seats are much more comfortable and I can bring as much (or as little) luggage as I want. As a solo traveler, when I do need to fly, I ask for assistance at the baggage check. It's difficult enough to maneuver in a large airport. Try doing it with a carry-on, CPAP device, and a cane. I have no qualms about being wheeled to my gate. I make sure to tip the porter a little extra. As a Greek philosopher said, "Know Thyself".

Could Tracey do a meet and greet up in Canada maybe like at Oktoberfest? I'm a travel-tourism student who aspires to be an agent (it would be a dream of mine to work for dreams one day) and I was hoping I could some day meet Tracey and pick her brain about the industry! Love you guys so much and appreciate every video from a future agent's perspective ❤️🇨🇦 (PS I'm in London Ontario so less than two hours from Tracey)

Thank you so much for making this video. We are headed to Universal next week and I also worry for my husband and I. My one question would be, if they do have those test chairs at attraction, are those the size of the "special larger seats" that may or may not be available or is that the size if a typical seat? Thanks again!

Re. Universal, one problem I had with the original Harry Potter ride was that the "test seat" was just before the loading area, meaning I spent half an hour in the line for no good reason when they told me "nope"---why not put it at the entrance?

Sometimes once you factor in luggage, first class is only $50-100 more. Also, stay away from Air Transat out of Canada. The coach seats are super small with the solid dividers.

The last time I was at Magic Kingdom it was 2011. How do I get around the buffet tables now on a scooter while traveling alone?
@kristieubanks3286
@kristieubanks3286 5 жыл бұрын
My past 4 trips to WDW, I used a scooter (3 of them solo). I try to avoid the buffet dinners, if I can. The few times that I did go to a buffet, I parked the scooter near the entrance of the restaurant and requested a table closer to the buffet. It was still a little difficult carrying a plate in one hand and my cane in the other, but I just took my time and made extra trips if needed. Too many kids running around to make myself try to carry more than one plate at a time.

Oh my gosh! I watched a cruise packing video and they stuffed 8 shirts in one packing cube and it looked like it would burst at any moment. I have used the compression style cubes and they do seem to help a little, but I can usually only fit about 4 t-shirts in them to begin with.
