We had an amazing time going on the state tour from Medellin to the beautiful city of Guatapé with the explorer Columbia tours.
We were treated to a colorful and vibrant village walk-through, while hearing the rich history behind the motifs and colors used throughout its streets. Walking away from the cobblestones, we boarded a boat that took us around the neighboring lake as we saw the beautiful lush greenery around us. we met some friends along the way and enjoyed a cool dip in the lake on such a hot day.
The highlight of Guatapé was to climb the famous rock. Along it’s winding staircases you would see many people attempting to get to the top while taking breaks along the way. At the top was a 360° view which was breathtaking.
Towards the end of the day, Kyle headed to a butterfly Conservatory within the city of Medine and saw how diverse the floor of Columbia are. We finished off our evening with dinner with our newly made friends and some salsa dancing to top the night off.

Come on this adventure with us as we take you away for a few minutes to another part of the world as we reminisce on the beautiful sights, sounds, and smells of our day tour in Guatapé from Medellin. Our Columbia diaries will have three or four parts since our stay was so full of amazing memories. We had so many experiences that this is only part one.
