Blackwing has a superb pencil sharpener that gives a long sharp point, the guard protects that in your pencil bag, and also prevents graphite stains all over the inside of your bag.

Which absolutely makes sense! I had never heard of or seen one before! It makes total sense and is really cool!

It's much more exciting to purchase it in person cz it's sold individually also. I got mine from the Blackwing website last night when it launched 8pm PST (secured mine at 8:07pm cz had to get something else) & it was only sold as a set. I wanted another ntbk refill but have to either go to a pen show or ask for a huge favor from a friend who will go to one. Can't wait to receive it. 😊

How exciting to go in person! Just have to wait on my shipment from Blackwing 😅 thank you for the share!

Yeh it was my first pen show! It was such a small banquet room but there were still a lot of vendors. I was not there long, got my goods, did one round around the room and left. Look forward to going to more!

Awesome! Hi! I remember you! Have you started using it yet???
@forrestkenworthy2357Ай бұрын
@@ellendwilliams I haven't. I am a teacher and use my TN journals for the various classes/grades I teach and the Blackwing one is slotted to organize the Yearbook and Arts Journal clubs that I also teach, so it'll have to wait a bit yet!

@@ellendwilliams since I teach a lot of grades and subjects it means I get to have a lot of TN covers! 😁

I use blackwing pencils for sketching. The point guard is actually very handy! Protects my super sharp point and keeps graphite off of my pencases. I ordered mine last night and can't wait to add it to my TN collection. Im curious to see how the cover ages as i plan on using it as my on the go sketch book.

I feel like it’s going to turn more grayish as it ages? It such a nice sleek black right now!

I’m wondering if the front picture prints will eventually wear off? You think?
@Saturdays.ScriptАй бұрын
@@TJ-sy6lh I imagine it will as I've seen other foiled TN editions that have faded with use. Especially since the string closer will wear directly onto the foiled image of the pencil. I personally don't mind a well loved TN it just adds to the character and tells a story 😉
@2tinytreasuresАй бұрын
That’s how the point guard works. It looks better when the pencil gets shorter. I know it looks a little goofy on a new pencil.
@user-qj4dx4fc3nАй бұрын
But that gold foil on the cover will surely flake or be scratched away. Then what will the cover look like?
@Saturdays.ScriptАй бұрын
It will look well loved and used 😊
@user-qj4dx4fc3nАй бұрын
@@Saturdays.Script Yes--in only a week, I fear. Others report the gold peeling soon after purchase.
@ellendwilliamsАй бұрын
I have a feeling I might just keep mine as a TN collectors item but I also think that if the gold foil wears off that’s ok too. It will look well loved and used as @saturdays.script said!
@samanthajones4942Ай бұрын
I have other TNs with foil and as long as you’re relatively careful with them they’re fine. I’m sure there will be some fading of the foil over time but I agree that adds to the look and shows it has been well loved ❤

@@samanthajones4942 If you have to be extra careful with tools, there's something wrong. And really, this isn't a true writing tool at all--it is an obvious collector's item from the start, pure manipulation.

Point guard - for protecting the point when you toss them into your pencil bag.
