Your leather isn’t going to change to become a sueded feel. Different batches are in different leathers. Some are smooth and some are sueded. As you use yours it’ll patina and get a sheen and almost a slickness to it. The moleskine pocket is bigger than passport. It’s 1/2” taller so it won’t work nicely with a passport TN. If anything it’ll be flush too and bottom but generally it sticks out. But there’s other thicker notebook options. Just find B7 size notebooks. Many companies make passport size TNs. I have a huge collection of them. Moterm is not a great leather quality but many are. Sojourner for example sells passport TNs and folios and they are gorgeous. Also you can add more too many other brands and still keep them slim because they offer a slightly wider cut and more elastics without having to jump band.

Darn definitely a bit sad about the leather and regretting returning the other one 😭 oh well Ya I knew moleskine pocket would be bigger, it’s not flush but I actually don’t mind it at all! But thanks for the feedback and options!!! Oo I’ve heard of sojourner before but just didn’t love the style as much, I might try the blue coloured travelers company one at some point and hope that I get a suede feeling one! Haha

I bought a "new" blue passport. It's like yours smooth. I await a delivery of three gently loved passports tomor6. One the limited Starbucks. Cant wait to see and feel differences . Love my new though

I gave in and purchased the passport size in camel. I have a regular TN in black and it still looks like new. I recently ordered the blue one for my short trips. I will use the blue one on a daily basis along with my Hobonichi weeks. I keep appointments and to do list in that one. I also use the Cousin for memories and stickers. I bought my black TN when the company became Midori/ Traveler’s Company. I enjoy the products and recently discovered all the accessories for the Traveler’s Company. My daughter is visiting Japan next year depending on the world health status and if she won’t let me accompany her, I want her to visit one of the stores and purchase accessories for me.

Oooo you’re going to love the camel!! Its sooo pretty! What do you plan to use the passport one for?? I love the sound of your system! I recently got a hobo weeks spring version and have been loving it as well! I’ve been thinking about adding some sort of separate book to use for notes and such like you do! Do you actually keep the weeks inside the standard TN? I’ve seen some videos where people have done that but was wondering if the size difference would be a pain. Omg stationery shopping in Japan would be the dream wouldn’t it!? Having her go is a good alternative though hahah But ya thank you sooo much for watching and for the comment!

It will soften up, I have had mine for 2 months and it is softening up nicely.

As others have mentioned, there are two different batches of the camel covers. There is quite a divide on the types of leathers in the community as well. I personally got the suede one but I wish that I had gotten the kind of leather that you got. Unfortunately I couldn't return/exchange it since I don't live in a city with a stationery store and shipping things back is always expensive lol

Ooo thank you so much for the feedback! I am hearing that a lot of people prefer this smoother leather! Is there a reason you prefer it to the suede like one?

@@MomYePlans It's mainly just a personal preference thing, with me liking smoother leather in general. The suede leather is still nice, but again, I just liker smoother leather. I might try buying another one to try my luck but TN covers are kind of expensive here in Canada.

I have a pocket TN from Prima. It’s green. I have five notebooks and I’ve never touched one I set it up. One day, I will use it while traveling.

I wish I can have this type of leather instead of the suede passport size camel I received lol. Enjoy it . I prefer this one more because it ages soooo much nicer in my opinion - showing more sign of scratches

Hi! My camel TN was the suede feeling one.. It will either come with the suede texture or it won't (it'll be smooth like yours). I remember someone saying it depends on the batch that the cover was made in or something along those lines. :)

That’s my experience, I have a blue with a nubuck soft feel. It scuffs really easily, which I love. I’d describe the colour as like petrol?

I so badly have an itch to set up a passport TN as a wallet. I don't know how I feel about strings though, but maybe because I'll be using it as a wallet, I can work with it versus using it as a planner?

The strings are actually great! Is there a specific concern you have about them?? But ya a wallet would be a great way to give it a try. You could clip in a separate notebook for now to use for lists and to just get used to that notebook feel without commitment to the strings!

@@MomYePlans I think it’s the fact that I’m a one book girl? I tried standard TN for like 2 weeks and resized I couldn’t handle all the little, thin books lol I imagine I’d keep a monthly in there along with a blank grid notebook to keep as sort of a check register? Or maybe one thicker notebook and create my own monthly and register in one? I feel like the possibilities are kind of infinite lol
