This week I'm off to one of my favorite places in this world, it's Port Barton in Palawan, Philippines. It's serene, laid back, there is a lot to see and do (island hopping, waterfalls) and some of the most friendly people live here! Keep in mind the Filipino's are already friendly in general, so can you even imagine ;) Big love and thumbs up for Port Barton!
To find Jeremy, I created a business FB page for him:
portbartonto...
Check it out, show him some love :D

The road from El Nido to Port Barton already brings back a lot of memories. Especially the slippery dirtroads. I’m glad not everything has changed yet.
And then we arrive! After a short check in at the local tourism office, I’m good to go.
Ready for one of my favorite places in this world!
Of course we can’t visit Port Barton, without saying hi to my favorite guide, so….
Yeah, of course I remember the picture. We wanted a way to say thank you to those we shared great memories with! And…
Well, sounds like a plan!
During my time in Palawan it has been raining on and off. But hey, if you’re gonna get wet anyway…
The biggest waterfall around Port Barton is definitely a natural beauty. Great for a cold dip, after a hot day!
White Beach is the perfect spot to relax at the end of your day. Save up some energy for the grand tour next morning!
Some of the reefs are so close to the surface, you have to hold your belly in to get over them. It might the closest you’ll get to the corals, without actual scooba diving.
Oh guys, sometimes I wish I could give you a taste of these moments right through your screen. Well, we’ll keep enjoying out lunch here for a bit, while saying our goodbyes.
Next week we’re up for the second part of our tour, meet the lords of the sea in all sizes, find an other piece of paradise and we’re celebrating! There is way too much left to be done, don’t miss out on it! See you next week. Doeg…!

Port Barton is my favorite place in Palawan. Please, if you go to Palawan, DON'T SKIP ON IT! You won't regret it :) Many Filipino's I met have an amazingly warm heart, and as you all know I feel so welcome in this country. Jeremy is one of those people I will always remember. I created a FB page for him, in the hope more people will find him and have an amazing time too! Check him out: facebook.com/portbartontours/?fref=ts

Travel Gretl Hi Gretl, I'm new to your channel, my cousin has recommended me going to Port Barton many years ago now you inspired me to finally go. I noticed in KZfaq that people are finally exploring the places that I've been to many many years ago. For selfish reasons I didn't really want So many people knowing about all these places but I know that it was inevitable that people will eventually find out. Positive thing is that it helps the economy and others can finally experience the beauty of the Philippines. Negative things are the changes in the places: Boracay, I still remember when it was such nice pristine place where you can still hear the waves at night when your walking, now all you hear Is load music and so many people. Kawasan Falls, I still remember when there were no trails to walk and you just end up seeing this beautiful Falls, now they have a pave road. I feel like changes are good but not all changes. I guess it's the price of tourism. I feel like things are better the way nature meant it to be. Don't mean to complain but the tourism department should try to preserve and keep things the way they were meant to be seen and experienced. Bragging a little: been to North to Pagudpod and South to Davao and many islands in between. Philippines is always beautiful and the people are beautiful. A little bias because I'm a Filipino American. I've also been to every Continent except for Africa. Keep up the good work. Maybe I'll run into you in one of my travels. Travel is life and life is good.

Travel Gretl some have sold their property. Port Barton is what El Nido was back in the 90's. We stick around because a lot have resisted to sell their places and convert their places to hotels instead. The local Church is where we mostly socialize now. Though there are illegal foreigners setting up business in El Nido and driving away locals like Thailand were trying to get those issues fixed and giving it back to the locals.

I miss the small town feel. It's great we have tourism the locals don't need to go to Manila for work but they need to take care of their home and don't sell it to commercialization

Hi! Nice video. There is so much to see in The Philippines!! Have you been to Kalanggaman Island in Palompon. Leyte? It is currently a hotspot right now and arguably one of the best sandbars in the world

The song at falls with male vocal is like a singer-songwriter or folk music genre. The last part is Cajun music. Yes, the song choices are lovely... and not overuse? I love watching travel videos and most background music is variety of house music, tropical particularly.

True! It's easiest to get that kind of music, but putting that only under the vids makes me kind of sad honestly ;)

You nailed my thoughts - had been questioning to make it 20 minutes or 2 parts of video. Choose for the last option. Also cause I'd have taken an other week to put the whole 20 minute thing up ;)

PORT BARTON! hahaha, I am a huge fan of that place. It was my first paradise in the Philippines and will always have a special spot in my heart :) I'll be back there one day, for sure! Coron and El Nido have amazing surroundings but lots of peeps as well. PB is just relaxed you know :)
