I'm a sucker for red bean paste, too! I'm in the same boat as you in that when it comes to sleeping on airplanes? Just can't do it! Funny related story; when I went to Tokyo 3+ years ago, I found out that one of my favorite Japanese bands (the mighty LOVEBITES) were playing live that same night and I got it into my head that I'd check in at the hotel, freshen up, brave the transit system, and go see my girls play live, right? WRONG. I got lost for *two hours* trying to find my hotel, and when I finally found it, got checked in and showered? I sat down on my bed and my body said "FOOL, YOU AIN'T GOIN' NOWHERE AFTER BEING AWAKE FOR 24+ HOURS STRAIGHT." Needless to say, I conked out for about 9 hours straight, not budging. Next time I travel internationally, I'm investing in some industrial strength thunder thud go the eff to sleep pills.

You need to go back to Japan. I suggest going to the Kansai region in Western Japan. Osaka is pretty much known for the best food in the country. You would go crazy. And you can also visit Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe.
