And the rum trade was linked to the slave trade, as well: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangular_trade

Yes, you are right, rum was - like other trades at that time - linked to the triangular trade slavery. The city of Flensburg profited from this, but the slaves were never visible to the everyday people of then Danish-German Flensburg, as they were shipped to the Caribbean to work the sugar plantations. The historical fact of Flensburg's involvement in slavery is not denied and is very much a subject addressed in the town, for instance at the Flensburg Maritime Museum. Its also the place HIMMLER and his guards hid out before being captured by the allies a little further south - probably not a mention at the town tourist office

Himmler at Hüholz and Kollerup, Höß at Gottrupel somewhat west of Flensburg.
