Traveling to Transylvania (Bucharest to Brasov). After a few amazing days in Bucharest, we are now traveling to Transylvania. A nice relaxing train ride from Bucharest to Brasov takes you through the absolutely stunning Romanian countryside. We were surprised just how beautiful the countryside of Romania was and even better yet when we started heading into mountains filled with snow-capped mountain tops. There isn't a lack of scenery as you pass through many small villages, which appear to be hundreds of years old. Soon after arriving in Brasov, we check into our Airbnb and locate a great little craft beer spot. So excited to explore this cute town of Brasov!

Hello Brian and Carrie! For me, coffee is the best start every day. The best coffee in Europe is espresso (without sugar, without milk), which you can easily find in restaurants in Romania. I was also in America and I could only find espresso coffee in specialty restaurants. The beneficial properties of coffee are destroyed if you add sugar, milk or other chemical powders. Have a pleasant trip through Romania (the land of the Dacians) because you will discover wonderful places that are thousands of years old. A Latin country surrounded by totally different countries and still resisted in the face of all kinds of challenges.

I actually made this train journey from Bucharest to Brasov last month amazing experience going through the mountains. Brasov is such a beautiful city, as is the whole Transylvania region 🇷🇴

Guys, this is turning into one of my favorite travel channels. Pleasant and down to earth couple, no ego, no drama (well except for the coffee incident), quality video, and excellent information. Romania was never really on my radar, but now you’re making me want to visit. I took a trip to Bulgaria a few years back - some fantastic stuff there, I hope you get to check it out while you’re in Eastern Europe. Cheers!

Your video randomly popped up in recommendations, glad you like it here. I am from Brasov and when you said the train is 1 hour and something I was like whaat? As far as I know the fastest is 2 and a half hours, like you ended up travelling :)

Hi Guys, Nice to see you are enjoying Romania. I worked in Bucharest not long after the overthrow of Nicolae Ceaușescu and can tell you it looked a lot different than today. Don't let the lovely summer weather fool you, as the winters are brutal with snow on the ground most of the time. While there I visited Brasov and of course "Dracula's Castle" where I have to say I was underwhelmed. I know you are planning to go to some other cities in Romania but do you have any plans to visit the Black Sea or the Danube Delta? I look forward to your next video; keep up the excellent work.

I'm English and live in Romania, so its nice when people come and be objective here without the pre-conceived stereotypes. Enjoy a beautiful country and amazing people and ensure you do the Transalpina and Transfagarasan as they are only open a few months a year and then explore Maramures; God's country up there. Hi, Felipe. We will be flying home twice a year so that expense is obviously our biggest travel expense. We try to travel regionally if we can, once we get to a destination. Bus, train, or jumper flights that are cheap. We will be having a year-in-review video coming out sometime this fall and covering our yearly expenses. Great question! Thank you for watching! Hi, Less! We only spend 90 days in the Schengen area of Europe then we have to exit. Which brings us to Romania and previously Montenegro and Albania. These countries are not in the 26 nation Schengen alliance. Thank you for watching our channel! Cheers 🍻

I would give suggestions for touristy stuff to do in Brasov, but the whole city is touristy. You can explore anywhere and you'll have a good time. Also it's pronounced Brashov in two syllables like Bra - shov.

So, that comma under the S makes it a SH, and the pronunciation of the city name is Brashov. BTW comma under the T makes it the same sound as ZZ in pizza.

I watched several videos for hours watching you guys live the life my husband and I dream of. We would like to retire next year and leave, but there is one concern. We have one adorable dog, he is a 24 lb miniature. From your experience, do you think we can travel with this puppy? I don't think we can ever leave this puppy behind. I ask for your honest and practical advice. I hope your travels go on happily and healthy. Thank you

Hi, Jenny. Leaving loved ones behind is a difficult choice. We left behind friends and family including elderly parents and grandkids. The fact is that there really isn't a perfect time to go. This is our dream and we only have one life to leave. Regarding traveling with your puppy, we aren't familiar with how that works. We know it can be done. A KZfaq channel called"Our Freedom Years" travels with two small dogs. They may be a good resource. Good luck to you two and thank you so much for watching! Cheers!!🍻

Can I ask…what is your goal travel budget for any given month? Can we do what you you two are doing on a budget of $3000 a month?

Absolutely you can! We travel the less expensive countries and try to stay around $2200 a month. Places like Montenegro and Albania can be even less. We started in September 2021 so we will have a yearly cost video coming up later this year. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!! 🍻
